WEATHER OUTLOOK
Art with Mrs. Cornett
Art students, despite the heat and moving around campus, completed some really cool pet portraits last week!
Did you know sharks love the taste of the Internet?
In 1987 The New York Times reported that sharks “have shown an inexplicable taste for the new fiber-optic cables that are being strung along the ocean floor linking the United States, Europe, and Japan.", and it is still an issue today.
Under the bottom of the Earth's oceans are almost 932,057 miles of submarine fiber optic cables which are the foundation of the entire global internet.
Motivational Moment
“I hope I’ll see in my lifetime a growing realization that we are one world. And that no one is going to have quality of life unless we support everyone’s quality of life.”– Dr. Helen Rodríguez-Trías
“We open doors so others can walk through them.”– Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez

Question: What is easier to get into than out of?
Answer: TroubleNational Hispanic Heritage Month
National Hispanic Heritage Month is annually celebrated from September 15 to October 15 in the United States for recognizing the contributions and influence of Hispanic Americans to the history, culture, and achievements for the United States. - Wikipedia
What was Cesar Chavez famous for?
A true American hero, Cesar Chavez was a civil rights, Latino and farm labor leader; a genuinely religious and spiritual figure; a community organizer and social entrepreneur; a champion of militant nonviolent social change; and a crusader for the environment and consumer rights.
-Cesar Chavez Foundation
"Preservation of one's own culture does not require contempt or disrespect of other cultures." - Cesar Chavez
Also known as Latinx Heritage Month
Hispanic Heritage Month is also referred to as Latinx Heritage Month.
Although Latino and Hispanic are frequently used interchangeably, they have different meanings. To keep it simple, Latino refers to people from countries in Latin America, and Hispanic refers to those from Spanish-speaking countries. As a result, there is more than one interpretation regarding what Hispanic Heritage Month honors. According to the name, it is a month dedicated to celebrating Spanish-speaking people. To make the month more inclusive, there has recently been a drive to rebrand it. By renaming it Latinx Heritage Month, the celebrations would focus on Latinx and Hispanic contributions.
