River Rafter News
A weekly newsletter to keep Twain families informed.

Principal's Message
Dear Twain Families,
Last Friday of the month at Twain means River Rafter of the Month! Congratulations to all of our winners for representing what Twain Elementary is all about. In addition, a special shout out to Ms. Dini’s class and Ms. Sanchez’s class for meaning the OARS class winners of the week.
We had a lot of fun at last night’s Trick or Treat Night. Look forward to seeing our River Rafters who choose to participate in the Character Parade on Monday, October 31st. As I want to minimize the impact to classroom instruction, we are starting promptly at 8:30 a.m. so please make sure to arrive on time. Parents will be allowed on campus, I just ask that you stay in designated areas (main hallway behind the caution tape) and exit promptly when the event ends. If driving to Twain, allow time to safely and legally park in the neighborhood, as you will not be able to park in the front driveway. Finally, in celebration of the 50th day of school, on Friday November 4th we will have a 50's day. See below for more information.
If you have any questions regarding events or other matters, please reach out to your child’s teacher via ClassDojo, e-mail, or call our front office at (310) 675-9134.
Sincerely,
Michael Bosler

Attendance Matters!
We are excited to begin a new year with new possibilities for success. Attendance is a vital component of your child’s success in school. 80% of student success in school begins with showing up and there is strong evidence that school attendance makes a difference. We encourage students to arrive when our gates open for breakfast at 8 :00 A.M. to ensure they are on time, have breakfast, and are able to play before the bell rings at 8:30 A.M.
If your student(s) cannot attend school, please notify the front office via phone at (310) 675-9134 between 07:45 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. or by completing the Student Absence Form.
