Back to School 2023-2024
Hello Reed Families!
Below is important information to make the school year a success for everyone!
- BACK TO SCHOOL NIGHT - Tuesday August 22 from 4:00-6:00 pm we hope to see you all as you meet your teacher and find your new classroom!
Start time - School starts at 8:50am. Students may be dropped off beginning at 8:30am if they are eating breakfast at school. Please note that students are not allowed on campus before 8:30 am as there is not any supervision.
First day drop off (August 24th) - On the first day of school, please be patient with parking if you choose to drop off your child(ren). We are asking that parents leave campus immediately after dropping their student off at the gates so that teachers and staff can begin help them to their designated areas and begin the day. The classrooms do not open until 8:50.
Regular Drop Off - Starting on Friday, August 25th, when students arrive to campus, they can go to the cafeteria at 8:30 only if they are eating breakfast or go to their designated line up area outside their classroom. All students will be in the cafeteria or in their designated class line outside until 8:47. At 8:47, the first bell will ring and teacher will come out to meet their class. We have many staff outside and around the front to help students throughout the year with this process!
Dismissal - School is dismissed at 3:35 (every Wednesday, students are released at 1:30). Our parking lot is generally crowded with parents/caretakers picking up, so we appreciate patience as we all have the same goal in mind - safety for all and getting all students home safely! If students ride the bus, the classroom teachers and support staff walk students to the bus area to wait for the buses. For pick-up in the moving pick-up line, you must remain in your vehicles and move forward and follow the line. When pulling away form the curb, please be sure to look for other vehicles and students. If you choose you may park in the parking lot and must use the crosswalk at the front of the building. This helps students stay safe, so thank you for your patience as students learn this process at the beginning of the year! We follow this same procedure every day of the year.
Parking lot - Please make sure that you gather as much patience as possible before picking your student up during the first few weeks of school. You may want to practice deep breathing ahead of time! Our parking lot gets very busy and congested! Linder Road gets busy, but the Reed staff and parents work together to make this as safe and smooth as possible! Please be prepared by carefully reviewing a map of our parking flow posted below.
Class Lists - Class lists will not be posted outside the school. Parents/guardians will be able to view their child's teacher on Monday, August 14 via PowerSchool, the new student information system that our district transferred to last school year. You can also find class supply lists using this link.
Busing - Use this link to find our bus routes and transportation information from our district.
Lunch and Breakfast - Sadly, meals are not free this year. Students/families will need to pay for breakfast and lunch this year. Please use this link for more information and how to load money into your child's account and to apply for the Free and Reduced Lunch program.
District Calendar - Teacher Collaboration days take place every week on Wednesday and school is dismissed at 1:30 on these days. Please click on the link to view the calendar.
