Hello Panther Families:
It was great seeing so many families in person at Blackstock for parent conferences. You are a very important part of your child’s success. I also want to remind you that conferences are not the only time to ask questions and contact your child’s teacher. We are here to support you and your child.
I hope everyone is doing well as we are approaching the holiday season. Our winter break begins on December 21, 2022 and ends on January 4, 2022. December 21st is a minimum day. Sixth grade dismisses at 12:14 pm and 7/8 grade dismisses at 12:17 pm. I know many of you are planning your vacations during this time. If you plan on going on vacation before December 21st, please be sure to request independent studies so that your child doesn’t fall behind and still receives attendance credit.
We have a few events planned before we go on winter break. This year is our 1st annual Winter Art Walk. This event will be held on Tuesday, December 20, 2022 from 3:30-5:30. Please join us to learn more about our visual and performing arts programs. You will get to see students performing as well as lots of art pieces on display, including our Gingerbread House STEAM challenge projects. The Frida's So Good food truck and Kona Ice will have items for sale so you don’t have to worry about making dinner.
We are excited to bring back our Winter Dash. Students will participate in a schoolwide run, jog, or walk event. Students will be able to wear fun holiday attire, PE uniform or school uniform. It is a fun event. If you can donate a case of water, please deliver the case to the office.
