Peace, Passion, Purpose
News From the Peak
“When we are really honest with ourselves we must admit our lives are all that really belong to us. So it is how we use our lives that determines the kind of men we are.”-Cesar Chavez
“For it isn't enough to talk about peace. One must believe in it. And it isn't enough to believe in it. One must work at it.” -Eleanor Roosevelt
From Michelle
For the next year, the staff and I will be working with the group Embracing Equity. I will be participating in their Leadership Residency and bringing back to the staff ideas and learning so that we can do intentional work on Anti-Racist teaching and Anti-Racist/Anti-Bias work within our campus community. This work will be across classrooms, office spaces, and grade levels. It is only by disrupting the cycle of bias that we can make any progress on uprooting the racism inherent in our systems. If you are interested in learning more about this organization, please visit their website. (www.embracingequity.com) It is so wonderful to be part of a community of educators and families who want to take on this work. Thank you for choosing a different kind of school. Thank you for choosing to be part of a community that wants to do this hard work.
Speaking of choosing Eagle Peak Montessori, it is time for the annual Intent to Return. You will be receiving an email with the link to the form- you can also use this link here: LINK Please make sure that you respond BY APRIL 14th. We are looking forward to being able to welcome more children on campus in the Fall. The questions we do not have firm answers to are:
- if we will be able to have all 40 at one time
- if we will be able to mix class groups to provide childcare
- if we will be able to provide Distance Learning to families who may want that option
June 30 will be the earliest that we will know. The current legislation that allows for any level of Distance Learning or Hybrid expires in June and we do not know how these will be updated until the legislative session. We will keep you posted as we learn updates.
We hope that each of you has a wonderful Spring Break. Please remember if you are traveling and your signed up your child to return for the on campus time in the afternoons, we do ask that you either have your child tested prior to returning to campus or remain of campus for 10 days upon your return. If adults have been FULLY vaccinated with both doses and the two week waiting period, they do not need to quarantine. Thank you for your cooperation.
Also, for those 1st grade students attending Bridge Week, the week of the 12th, we will be sending out your Health Assessment Form via email. This Form will be emailed to you every day. You need to complete it no later than 12:30pm. Please do not fill it out prior to your child waking up for the day, and please make sure that you put your child’s name where it asks for “name” on the form. If you have questions about this form, please call Monday morning April 12th so that we can help you with your questions.
The office will be closed for the week of Spring Break and email will not be responded to until Monday, April 12th.
Have a great week!
Stay Well,
Michelle

10 x 10 Fundraiser
Hello 10X10 Participants!!!
We are moving closer to the finish line on our unique fundraiser!! We have attached the flyer to remind you of what's on tap for the rest of the year! This month is our "write-a-thon"! Participants write a sentence a day; creating a 31 sentence story to share with your followers at the end of the month. There will be no handout for this, since you can use any lined piece of paper that works for your grade. Be sure to share with us as well! Send in your stories so we can share them with the school in April's first Friday Folder!!
Box Top$ for Education
HERE’S HOW IT WORKS: Buy participating products and use the Box Tops mobile app to scan your store receipt within 14 days of purchase. The app identifies eligible products and automatically adds Box Tops to Eagle Peak's earnings online. Even if you’re shopping online or doing grocery pickup, you can still submit your e-receipts and earn Box Tops. Your earnings may seem small, but they really do add up. The more people that participate, the bigger the impact we can make. Learn more about how Box Tops works at BTFE.com.
Please Share Your Distance Learning and 10 x 10 Pictures
We are enjoying the Distance Learning pictures. Also, if you have pictures of your child cooking, playing their recorder, creating art, etc. we would love to share those pictures with our community as well.
Please continue to send them to Ms. Hammons.
