THESIS
The documentary Undefeated explains how it's important to work together as a team rather to be alone in the world and that it's okay to ask for help when you need it but it's most important to have character.
PURPOSE
The purpose of the film was to explain that nobody is alone if they work together. Being on a team means you have to worry about everyone on it not just yourself and that the team is like family and you have to help family not hurt it. Also that at one point you may be struggling and going through things but it will get better.
ACHIEVING THE PURPOSE
EXAMPLE 1: COACH AND THE TEAM
Coach always kept the team together by doing things that other coaches would't have. Coach Bill didn't give up on any of the players because he knew everyone of them had potential.
EXAMPLE 2: COACH EXPLAINING CHARACTER
Coach Bill taught the team that they need to have character in order to be successful because if they didn't they would fall apart and they wouldn't win anything. When asked what character is one of the members responded with "It's not how you handle your successes but how you handle your failures.
EXAMPLE 3: YOUR'RE NOT ALONE
Showing a team mate that they aren't alone and that the team has their back is a way to show that everything would be alright in the end and that it'll get better if you have someone there to support you when going through the tough times. Being on a team means that even though you may not have a dad or a mom you'll always have the team there to support you in the long run
CONCLUSION
In conclusion, the authors purpose for this documentary was to explain that nobody is alone and that character is a big part in being a good team. On the Manassas team coach Bill was a big part of the teams life because he kept them together as a team throughout the football season. Even though they had some rough patches couch bill and the team pulled together and worked as a team to make it through a successful season.
