FROM MRS. HUBBARD, PRINCIPAL
On behalf of all staff members at Governor Winslow School, I would like to thank our families for their kindness and generosity during the holiday season. We were spoiled with sweet treats and beautiful gifts, our favorites being the holiday greeting cards filled with warm wishes and family photos. We are blessed to be part of such a wonderful school community.
In addition, a special thank you to our PTO for purchasing playground equipment for our students. We received three carts filled with bats, balls, frisbees, and jump ropes for each wing of the building. As you can see from the photo, our students will have lots of fun during recess this new year!

GWS teachers are in need of your help during the school day. Tasks vary per grade level but generally include copying, cutting, etc. Ideally each grade level would have 2-3 parents that are CORI checked, reliable and consistent. Days and hours to be determined by grade level and the GWS front office.
If you are interested, please send an email to Melisa Rice at durders@gmail.com. Please remember to include your cell phone number and the grade level you would like to volunteer for.

From Chaos to Calm: Supporting your student with Executive Functioning Challenges
Executive function is an umbrella term used to describe a set of cognitive processes that are necessary for emotional and behavioral control. In this workshop participants will learn what executive functioning skills are and will provide insight into the role they play in student learning and the impact difficulties in EF skills have on school success. Oftentimes, students who appear “unmotivated” about schoolwork simply do not have the EF skills required to initiate, plan, organize and persist on school/homework tasks until completion. Parents and caregivers won't want to miss this interactive presentation that will help them gain a clearer picture of how to help their children become more successful and independent learners.
For planning purposes, please click here to RSVP if you plan to attend.
