Friday 23rd September - Catholic Day Holiday
Monday 7th November - Staff Professional Development Day
Queen of Apostles Feast Day
Tomorrow, we celebrate the feast of Queen of Apostles. We have had a team of staff working out a plan for the day and deciding on some fantastic activities for the students. The day will start with the Year 5 class leading us at Mass. Mass will start at 9am and parents and friends are welcome to join us. Each class will then rotate through 7 activities where they will learn about the history of our school, complete some craft activities and have some fun. I’m looking forward to what promises to be a great day.
Confirmation
Confirmation will take place this Sunday 5th June at a special 10.30am Mass in the church.
Confirmation is one of the Initiation Sacraments of the Catholic Church and helps the candidates to be united more firmly with Christ.
Please keep our Year 6 candidates in your prayers during this time.
Year 3 Assembly
Next Friday morning (June 10) we have our first assembly of the year that will be presented by the Year 3 class. I know Ms Lesque and the Year 3’s have been working hard and it promises to be a lot of fun. I look forward to seeing our Year 3 parents and friends at the hall next Friday morning.
COVID Portal
It is still vitally important that parents and caregivers inform the school if their child tests positive for COVID-19.
Parents and caregivers can inform the school of their child’s positive or negative COVID result via this LINK - https://cewa-collections.powerappsportals.com/COVID-19-Self-Reporting-Form/
The information will go directly to me.
If a positive result is recorded via a RAT test it must also be registered on the WA Health RAT register website:
https://datalibrary-rc.health.wa.gov.au/surveys/index.php?s=WDLLNTW4RDX8AWPH
Please do not underestimate the importance of informing us of a positive COVID case. Your actions will ensure the risk to others is minimised and that we do our very best to limit the spread of the virus across our community.
WA Day Holiday
Don’t forget that Monday 6th June is the WA Day holiday.
We look forward to seeing everyone next Tuesday.
Best Wishes
Mark Ryan
Interschool Cross Country
Well done to our interschool cross country team for their awesome performances last Friday. Each student showed great Queenies spirit and gave their all!
Queenies scored the 3rd highest tally of points on the day (6th place for the shield when school population size considered). We had runners in the top 10 in each race. Special mention goes to Sofia in Year 4 and Bryn in Year 6 who both placed 2nd in their races and took home silver medals.
Thank you to Mr Ryan and Ms Lesque for accompanying the team, and to the many parent helpers and spectators for their support in cheering on our team. It was a wonderful atmosphere and our school was well represented on the day.
If you were there and have any photos you would like to share, please email them to ross.bridgeman@cewa.edu.au
Hockey Boys 12 Years & Under State Team Announcement - SSWA
We are always pleased to hear about the special achievements of our students in their other activities outside school and are proud to share the news with our community.
Congratulations to Bryn Wilson from Year 6, who has recently been selected in the 2022 Boys 12 Years and Under State Hockey Team. Bryn will be playing at the Bunbury Carnival over the coming long weekend and also in the "Club Champs" in the July school holidays, before travelling to Canberra in August to take part in the National Championships.
We are very proud of you Bryn, and wish you and your team all the best in these competitions.
