An Apple a Day
The English proverb "An apple a day keeps the doctor away" is easy enough to understand. If you eat healthy, you will stay healthy and will have fewer visits to the doctor.
What if we extended this idea to other parts of our lives? Implementing small, daily routines could prevent bigger problems down the road.
At home, this might look like putting away the laundry right when it comes out of the dryer rather than waiting for two or three loads to pile up. Or, putting the cooler bags into the back of the car as soon as you unload the groceries so that you don't forget them later.
In our classrooms, this could be spending a couple of minutes a day having conversations with students to build that relationship with them. It also might look like doing a quick glance at your classroom supply station to make sure nothing has run out that students might need.
