7th and 8th Grade Back to School Night

We would like to invite you to our 7th and 8th Grade Back to School Night on Wednesday, September 18th at 6:30 PM. We will be dividing 7th and 8th grade into two sections.

Our 7th grade families will begin in the auditorium with a Principal Welcome and an overview of our elective and specialist programming. The second portion of the evening will be evenly split amongst your child's four core content teachers. These presentations will be held in your child's assigned core content classrooms.

Our 8th grade families will begin with your child’s core content teacher presentations in their classrooms. The second portion of the evening will be held in the auditorium. This presentation will include a Principal Welcome and an overview of our elective and specialist programming.

Please ask your child for the name and room number of his/her 1st period, A Day teacher. This information can also be found in ALMA. The students will also be bringing home a paper copy of their schedule for you to reference throughout the evening.

*School counselors will be available and stationed in the Guidance Suite.
*Mrs. Vandenbraak will be available and stationed in the Nurse’s Suite.

*District Technology support will be available and stationed in the Library.

Parent Technology Support Available!

District technology staff will be available from 5:45pm to 8:00pm in our library to answer any and all questions regarding the many technologies we utilize here at GVSD. Our district experts are ready and willing to help you better understand Alma, Schoology, SNAP, etc.

Reminder from our School Nurse

Please remember to fill out the new Emergency Health Record at www.studentehr.com as soon as possible. The information included for your child helps our nurses to properly care for your student.

It is important that each field be filled out. Please be sure that all contact information and allergies/conditions are up to date. Also, if you would like your child to receive over the counter medication, such as Ibuprofen/Tylenol, please provide consent. You may do this by clicking on MEDICATION, OTC, then selecting each medication that you would like to give permission for, then SAVE. If this section is not completed we will not be able provide your child with any OTC medication when requested by your student.

Scholastic Book Fair

Mark your calendars!!! The Scholastic Book Fair is coming to GVMS! It will run from Monday, September 16th through Friday, September 20th. Students may purchase books at scheduled times throughout the day. Parents will have the option of visiting the fair during Back to School night!
