Wow, what a year! We are so PROUD to be a part of so many wonderful districts. We are privileged to share your stories and see the wonderful things your schools are doing for their students. Stories are so important. It shows progress to parents and gives teachers a sense of pride. Principals, Staff, Parents and RootEd Reps work hard to put out good content to brag about our neighborhood schools. We cannot thank you enough for making that a priority. RootEd's #1 goal is to make sure everyone knows that RootEd schools are the best. Why would anyone go anywhere else when our neighborhood schools have everything we need!

We are so excited to announce our partnership with South San ISD!! South San ISD is a wonderful district with so much pride and we cannot wait to work with their parents and staff to share their stories!!

VOUCHERS DID NOT PASS!!! Everyone should be so proud of themselves for all their hard work this session. Vouchers did not pass because of the phone calls, emails, testimony, public comment and all the other ways you reached out. More than anything though, this session was completely frustrating because funding and raises were held hostage by legislators who were determined to push through vouchers. AND we're probably not done!! Governor Abbott has already called the first special session and we expect more. Vouchers are his target but that session may come later this summer or even September. We'll reconvene then!! Regardless of all this, please pat yourself on the back for the effort you put in to make our wishes known to the legislature and please thank the legislators who were on our side!

We are sooooo grateful to Sophie!! This has been quite the adventure of a session with almost daily communication with Sophie and RYHT with updates on vouchers, accountability and funding. RootEd is so lucky to have an amazing advocate working by our side!

We love that so many of our schools have Senior Walks...what a wonderful moment for the kids to come back to where it all started. When students graduate 5th grade they really don't understand the capacity of what elementary school did to get them prepared for their future but when they come back they are full of memories and thanks. #RootEd

Congrats to our two RootEd Scholarship recipients!! Caroline Lilly a senior at Reagan HS in North East ISD headed to UT and Jaylyn Bishop a senior at Harlan HS in Northside ISD headed to Baylor. Both were well deserved and both are destined for great things! Congrats Caroline and Jaylyn!

We had a wonderful afternoon at the Go Public Mingle! So great to see everyone and to be able to witness the sweet farewell to Dr. Woods, an integral part of Go Public from the beginning!
