Super Bowl Recap

What a run it was for Coach Dembowski and the Football Team! The 'Cats lost in the Super Bowl but played a great game to cap a tremendous season. It was the first time in Program History that the Football Team played in the Super Bowl. The Team still finished as Bay State Conference Champions, and had an undefeated regular season.

While the veteran leadership of Owen McHugh, Jack Finnegan, Drew Cakouros and KJ Beckett were on display, there was a lot of big plays made by returning players like Harrison Hinckle, Ben Parmele, and Ben Caledonia. There is a lot of promise for this group moving forward! There was a great article in the Patriot Ledger after the game that you can find here.

Thank you to all those that made the trip out to Gillette Stadium. According to the Gillette Stadium staff, we had the biggest and most well-behaved crowd out of the 8 games played over Friday and Saturday. The sportsmanship and support that night was terrific!

Start of Winter Sports

Just like that, our Winter Sports are underway. It feels like just yesterday that our Fall Teams were in the MIAA Tournament.

Boys Hockey is 2-1, scoring 13 goals over their past two games. Owen McHugh led the way last night with a hattrick against Bridgewater Raynham.

Girls Hockey is 3-1 after their win over Norwood on Monday. Junior Goaltender Lile Chamoun has been unbelievable in net, only allowing 7 goals through 4 games. Molly Murphy has found herself in the goal column in 3/4 games, including the game winner against Norwood. Kerry Balerna also netted a hattrick against Natick in their first league win on Saturday!

The Wrestling Team had a good Tournament in in Wayland, with some great performances, led by Mason Pellegri. Mason finished in 1st place at the 182 lb weight class! The Team then followed up with a win over Walpole last night, with first Varsity wins for Gabriel Veal and Valentino Kellici!

Girls Basketball began their season with a win over Dedham, with Captain Stephanie Needham dropping 17 points and Captain Kate Karimbakas with a double double (10 pts, 12 boards)!

Boys and Girls Track swept Braintree in their first meet of the season! Katie O'Toole, Gretel Schewe, Moses Mann, and AJ Cicerone all had Top 5 finishes. Many even qualified for States in their first meet!

See the picture below for a breakdown of the four (4) sources of funding!

What does my user fee cover?

  • Coaches are free to find vendors, with help from AD is necessary

Team 515 Account Balance Explained

  • This money “belongs” to the Town of Milton. Coaches must request funds from this account and follow the process below.
  • All funds in this account stay with the team, even with a change in coaching staff.
  • A balance may be kept each year.
  • Food may not be purchased or reimbursed from this account.
  • Any gear that is fully funded by this account should stay with the team each year.
  • If students would like to keep the item, this account may partially fund the item.

Boosters' PVA Explained

  • This money “belongs” to the Boosters Club.
  • Coaches may work with their Booster Reps to request money from this account, only after a discussion with the Athletic Director.
  • Generally, the Team’s Booster Rep would request the funds from the Boosters, not the Coach.

Milton Athletics Committee (MAC)

The Milton Athletics Committee (MAC) is composed of Milton Youth Sport Directors. The purpose of the committee is to foster a much needed - and collaborative - conversation about Milton Athletics, specifically regarding the facilities in Town. Our goal is to enhance Town Pride and develop kids from youth sports to wherever they go for high school and beyond.

The MAC met again this week to discuss plans for improving our facilities in town. There are initial plans to support the turfing of Lower Gile and Middle Gile Field at the High School, whilst also looking to improve Andrews Park, Mary C Lane, Flatley, etc.

We encourage anyone would is interested in giving our student-athletes across town a better athletic experience, please join our next meeting!

The meeting day and time is not yet set, but it will be in late January - early February.

Happy Holidays and Happy New Year! Happy Holidays and Happy New Year!
