Good morning educational partners,
Here are the weekly updates with reminders for this week, March 21, 2022.
-Trimester 2 Report Cards went home on Friday, March 18, 2022. Please celebrate small and significant accomplishments. It is essential that your child continuos reading daily at home to improve or retain their reading level. We have one more trimester for this school year. So, please encourage your student to continue with their hard work to achieve their learning goals.
-Congratulations to the fantastic E.O. Green JHS Annie Jr. directors, cast and crew. They did an excellent job with the musical performance! Bravo to Ms. Xayaphone, Ms. Davis, Ms. Wolgar and our outstanding E.O. Green Theatre Club students. Check back next week for more pictures from our weekend performances.
-This week, our 7th-grade students will be completing the Digital Citizenship lessons and the California Healthy Kids Survey.
-The E.O. Green staff is collaborating and planning a spring outdoor event in place of an Open House event. More information is coming soon.

Ventura County Fair Poster Contest is Back!
After 2 years the Ventura County Fair is returning and we are calling for inspired young artists to participate in the annual poster art contest.Youth in grades 5-12 from all over the County are invited to enter the Ventura County Fair poster art contest.
The Poster Contest theme is “VC Fair Rides Again” and will be the guideline to creating designs. The winning artwork will convey the artist’s personal interpretation of their favorite feature of the Ventura County Fair. It will be seen throughout the community in advertising and as a part of Fair promotions.
Cash prizes will be awarded and every entry will be prominently displayed in the Youth Expo at the Fair.
Entries are being accepted at the Fairgrounds beginning February 14, the deadline for submissions is April 15, 2022. Entries can be brought to the rear of the Fairgrounds administration office at 10 W. Harbor Blvd. in Ventura. Monday through Friday from 10 AM until 5 PM.

COVID Testing Sites!
Please read the attached letter from HESD for more information.
There are two testing locations:
Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays: Blackstock Junior High School, 701 E. Bard Road
Tuesdays and Thursdays: Haycox Elementary School, 5400 Perkins Road
Testing hours are10:00-4:00 at each location. Both testing sites are walk-up only, no appointments necessary.
To register your GREEN student for COVID testing please click here. This link is ONLY for GREEN students. Students only need to register once before the first time they take a COVID test at a district site.
FREE AT HOME COVID TESTS!
The US Government is now sending FREE Covid tests to all households in the United States. To sign up for your 4 free Covid Tests at https://www.covidtests.gov/. The website will take you to the USPS website to sign up for your free tests.
COVID Symptom Reminder and Return to School Requirements
As a reminder, at no time is it acceptable to send students to school when they are experiencing COVID-19 symptoms, and especially if they have received a positive test result (laboratory based OR at-home test). Please make sure to report all positive cases to your students’ school.
Students are to stay HOME if:
-If your student does not feel well, keep them home.
-If your student has any COVID-like symptoms, keep them home.
-If your student is unvaccinated and was a close contact to someone who was COVID positive, they must quarantine at home even if they do not have any symptoms.
Home tests or antigen tests are now accepted
-Thank you for keeping our school community safe.
