Guided 365 Day Reflection Journal
Scripture For Grief, Recovery, & Joy for Week 11

This Weeks Scripture
"I waited patiently for the Lord;
he inclined to me and heard my cry.
He drew me up from the pit of destruction,
out of the miry bog,
and set my feet upon a rock,
making my steps secure."
Psalm 40:1-2 ESV
Preparation for this week
When preparing for the week ahead, think about the following: God Hears Our Cries and Answers.
Food for Thought
In this week's scripture, we are reminded of the faithfulness and strength of God. Despite our circumstances, and when it feels like we have been stuck or bogged down in a miry pit of destruction, He is there to draw us out. It may feel like our feet are stuck in quicksand, but He will set them on solid ground.
We can often find ourselves overwhelmed by life's difficulties or can't seem to break out of the cycle of despair that seems to engulf us. We may be struggling with feelings such as hopelessness, fear, or guilt, which prevent us from seeing the way out. When all hope seems lost, God still hears our cries and rescues us out of these seemingly impossible situations. His love and strength know no bounds; His grace is sufficient for any situation we face!
God's love is so powerful that He can take something broken and make it whole again - just like how He took those who were mired deep in sin out from their darkness into light (Ephesians 5:8). We need only call out to Him for guidance and strength, and He will answer our prayers. He is truly faithful and will never leave us or forsake us (Deuteronomy 31:8).
How can you find comfort this week knowing no matter how deep your pit may feel, His grace is greater still? How can you make Him your rock this week?
Goals
This week marks the halfway point of March. Take a few moments to evaluate your progress throughout this month and reflect on what goals you have achieved. Celebrating our goals helps us to stay motivated and reach our targets. A great way to do this is by setting a variety of monthly goals, breaking them down into weekly tasks, and tracking your progress.
This week, set small achievable goals that help move you towards your monthly goal - this will help you keep up the energy for the long-term goal.
Tip: Consider focusing a few goals on being generous if you're feeling stuck in a pit. It is a great way to change your mindset!

Today's Scripture
But he was pierced for our transgressions; he was crushed for our iniquities; upon him was the chastisement that brought us peace, and with his wounds we are healed.
Isaiah 53:5 ESV
Today's Guide
When preparing for today, think about the following: God’s Love Transcends All Boundaries, Even Death Itself.
Food for Thought
Today’s scripture is a powerful reminder of the immense love and sacrifice of Jesus. It speaks to us about how Jesus willingly took on all of our sins and sicknesses so that we could be healed from them. It reminds us that God's grace is sufficient for all our needs, no matter what they may be.
Today, I am reminded that while it may feel good from time to time to sit in our circumstances or wallow in our pit of mud - when we choose to stay there, we are insulting Jesus and all that He did for us. Pause in that for a moment, when we choose to sit in our circumstances, we are saying all His pain and conquering death itself wasn’t enough for our circumstances.
The power of this verse lies in its message of hope. We are reminded that no matter how bleak or difficult our circumstances seem, Jesus has already paid the price for us to receive healing and freedom from those burdens. His love transcends all boundaries, even death itself, which He conquered so that we could experience true joy and peace in Him. Even when life seems hard, there’s always something greater at work — God’s perfect plan unfolding right before your eyes!
Gratitude
Today, as we reflect on what we are grateful for, take a few minutes to really appreciate and be thankful for what Jesus did so that we could find freedom, hope, and ultimately be healed. What are you grateful for in today’s scripture?
Today's Prayer
Lord, We come to you humbly today, thanking You for Your perfect sacrifice. You paid the price so that we could be free from our pain and suffering and receive healing. You conquered death itself so that we could experience true joy and peace in You.
Help us to remember that no matter how bleak or overwhelming life can seem, there is always something greater at work — Your perfect plan unfolding before us.
We are deeply grateful for Your love and sacrifice. Amen
