Queen of Apostles School
Term 3 Week 7 - Thursday 1 September 2022
Father's Day Prayer
Heavenly Father,
you entrusted your Son Jesus,
the child of Mary,
to the care of Joseph, an earthly father.
Bless all fathers
as they care for their families.
Give them strength and wisdom,
tenderness and patience;
support them in the work they have to do,
protecting those who look to them,
as we look to you for love and salvation,
through Jesus Christ our rock and defender.
Amen.
2022 Professional Development Days
The following dates are the remaining pupil free days for 2022. Please ensure you have them in your diaries.
Friday 23rd September - Catholic Day Holiday
Monday 7th November - Staff Professional Development Day
Book Week
The students had an excellent day on Tuesday with the Book Week dress up parade and being involved in a session with Kylie Howath our visiting author.
The costumes were amazing and it was clear to see that a great deal of time, thought and effort went into preparing for the day. Thank you to our parents for assisting with this process.
Thank you also to Mrs Peach for organising the day and to the staff for being involved in the retell of the ‘Rainbow Serpent’.
Sacramental Retreats
Our Reconciliation and Eucharist retreats for the Year 3 and 4 students will take place next week. These retreats play an important part in preparing for these special sacraments.
Can we please keep these students in our prayers as they continue their spiritual journey at this important time in their lives.
Year 2 Assembly
Tomorrow at 8.50am in the hall the Year 2 class will present their assembly item to the community. I know they have been working really hard and I'm looking forward to seeing them in action. It will also be great to see our Year 2 families come and support the class.
Music Assembly
Next Friday morning at 8.50am in the hall a range of students will be showcasing their musical talents at the music assembly. We have some very talented musicians here at QOA and I am very much looking forward to seeing them perform. I thank Mrs Perry for organising.
Kindy & Pre-Primary Athletics Morning
On Friday 9th September starting at 10am the Kindy and Pre-Primary classes will be having their athletics morning on the Annexe Oval. They will be involved in running races and relays and it promises to be great fun.
We hope the weather is fine and it would be fantastic to see a big crowd in attendance to support our students. I’m sure Mr Bridgeman would also like some parent help on the day.
P&F Sundowner
The P&F Sundowner on Friday 9th September from 5.30 until 7.30pm promises to be lots of fun for everyone.
There will be an ice cream van, giant games and a magic show. So get your picnic rugs and hampers ready and come and enjoy a great evening with other families in our wonderful school.
I thank our P&F for organising this for our community.

COVID Portal
It is still vitally important that parents and caregivers inform the school if their child tests positive for COVID-19.
Parents and caregivers can inform the school of their child’s positive or negative COVID result via this LINK - https://cewa-collections.powerappsportals.com/COVID-19-Self-Reporting-Form/
The information will go directly to me.
If a positive result is recorded via a RAT test it must also be registered on the WA Health RAT register website -
https://datalibrary-rc.health.wa.gov.au/surveys/index.php?s=WDLLNTW4RDX8AWPH
Please do not underestimate the importance of informing us of a positive COVID case. Your actions will ensure the risk to others is minimised and that we do our very best to limit the spread of the virus across our community.
Best Wishes
Mark Ryan
Year 6 News from the SRC
In Year 6, we have a student who was chosen to represent the State in the state hockey team. This very lucky person is Bryn. We interviewed Bryn and found out these things about him:
1. Bryn’s favourite part of the experience was when he got to spend quality time with the team. He enjoyed playing hockey at this high level.
2. Bryn’s team won three games, drew two and lost one game. They came third overall.
3. The highlight of his time away was just playing hockey because he finds it was very enjoyable.
4. Bryn was chosen to be captain of the state team and it was a big responsibility to lead the team out onto the field to represent WA.
5. Bryn also went to Questicon where he built up a relationship with players from other states and did lots of activities.
CONGRATULATIONS, BRYN. WHAT AN AMAZING EXPERIENCE!
From Coby, Vivienne, Marlah and Nathan (SRC 2022)

Music Assembly
Dear Parents,
Please come and join us for our Music Assembly on 9th September (Week 8). Our Queenies musicians who entered the Performing Arts Festival will showcase their talents. We will also be entertained by the Year 5 Class Choir, the Junior Choir and the Senior Choir.
I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate our musicians and singers who entered the Catholic Schools Performing Arts Festival. Your efforts and participation are greatly appreciated. A big thank you to all the mums and dads for supporting your child and getting them to their performances.
A very BIG congratulations goes to Emma Thomas & Isabelle Matthews. They received a Certificate of Merit for their performance in the Piano Duet section. Well done girls!
Looking forward to seeing you all at our Assembly.
