Mr Hallas would like to say well done to 10SW for lots of valuable contributions during Wednesday’s Religious Studies lesson. You treated the topic of ‘Peace and Conflict’ with the sensitivity and maturity it deserves. I was also really impressed with the cross-curricular links made throughout the lesson, especially with what you learnt in History at KS3.
Music:
Year 7:
Well done to 7CO for their brilliant attitude towards learning. Students put their knowledge to great use in our game of ‘How green you are’! A special mention goes to Blake, Leighton, Naimah and Wiktoria for excellent technical knowledge this lesson!
Well done to Loghan and Olivia in 7CO and Levante, Natalia & Olly in 7TE for their brilliant approach to a group task in this week’s lesson – great work!

Year 8 have learnt two chords on the ukulele. Miss Patrick was very impressed with the resilience shown by 8CU, even if a mistake was made it did not stop students from trying again until they perfected their technique! This meant that the whole class could quickly change between two chords and stay perfectly in time with the pulse – well done! A special mention to Charlie and Miller who were brave enough to perform a short piece of music in front of the class by reading TAB off the board.
Well done to 8CO for their brilliant attitude to learning in music! Students were particularly good at correctly identifying the different layers within a well-known Elvis Presley song. A special mention to Julian and Judah for their ability to switch between chords this week and to Trafford and Nicole I for their impressive technical knowledge – great work!

9TE have made an excellent start to film music composition. Students were brilliant at being able to tell the differences between different film genres by listening to different musical examples. A special mention to Tyler, Marian, Alfie and JoJo who were all able to pick out specific musical elements within a piece of music and explain the relevance of this to a particular genre – great work!
Miss Patrick would also like to celebrate Finley from 9SW and Ellis, Matty, Stas and Harry from 9CO for their ability to layer loops creatively to compose a piece of music on GarageBand. The range of different sounds used made their pieces sound unique and very enjoyable to listen to!
