Thank you to Jackson County Essential Workers!
Have you been identified as an "essential worker" under Governor Whitmer's "stay at home" Executive Order?
If so, we can help you find child care for your children ages 0-12. There are approximately 35 child care centers in Jackson County open to serve you during this time of need.
If you are in need of child care, please visit www.helpmegrow-mi.org to complete an intake form that will collect information on what child care hours you are looking for.
If you do not have the ability to visit the web-site, you can dial 2-1-1 and the call center will assist you in completing the "essential worker" child care form.
Once complete, Child Care Network will connect directly with you to let you know what centers are available and can meet your needs.
Thank you for your service to Jackson County!!
Lend a Helping Hand: How Can YOU Help?
Youth Voice Needed
Jackson County ISD Whole Child is participating in planning a network of community gardens in Jackson County, designed to grow and distribute produce to in-need youth and seniors. These gardens will also be places for us to host nutrition and cooking education, as well as group physical activity opportunities.
Because we are taking an intergenerational approach throughout this work, pairing seniors and youth, we would like to gather feedback from youth.
Therefore, please share this link (https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/KRHGHFR) as soon as possible, with youth 18 or older, or youth younger than 18 who have their parent, guardian, or caregivers’ consent AND who live in Jackson County. It will take only a few minutes to complete.
The deadline for survey completion is noon, Mon., April 6th
If you have any questions, please contact Julie Weisbrod at Vista Grande Villa at JWeisbrod@vgvilla.com or at 517-262-0314.

Eight Acts of Goodness Amid the COVID-19 Outbreak
For many of us, the world seems pretty dark and hopeless right now. We are glued to our screens, hoping for good news, but more often than not we end up reading reports that fill us with anger, fear, or a sense of helplessness.
Still, countless acts of goodness, kindness, and heroism are taking place all over as the world battles COVID-19. Of course, much of it is going on behind the closed doors of hospitals and homes, anonymous and unsung. But some of it is happening for all of the world to see. We’ve rounded up some of the good news as a reminder that, amid the darkness, people are still out there loving and caring for each other.
