September 14, 2022 Jarrell ISD Board of Trustees Meeting
Cougar Champions
Several second-grade students from Jarrell Elementary talked about this month's character trait: compassion. They presented board members with pictures they drew illustrating what compassion means to them.
Our Cougar Champions of the month were recognized for their outstanding work.
Jarrell Elementary recognized third grader Tammi Green and teacher Kayla Carbajal.
Igo Elementary recognized student Jayla Gonzalez and librarian Bridget Jarrett.
Jarrell High School recognized student Cody Dotson and Athletic Secretary Betty Peralta.
Communications and Informational Items
Superintendent Dr. Hicks presented the student outcome for progress monitoring measures.
Athletic Director Marty Murr presented athletic updates. The presentation is below.
Bond 2021 Update presented by Sledge Engineering.
Action Items:
In addition to approving the Consent Agenda, the Board took the following actions:
Approved the Certification of an Unopposed Candidate for November 8, 2022, Jarrell ISD Board of Trustees Election, Place 4.
Approved an Order of Cancellation of November 8, 2022 Board of Trustees Election, Place 4, since Mr. Dave Lovelace is running unopposed.
The next Regular Board of Trustee Meeting is October 12, 2022, at 6:30 pm at Jarrell ISD Annex Cafeteria, 508 N. 5th Street.

It's National Arts in Education Week. This week, designated by Congress in 2010, celebrates the role fine arts play in education. Our students say they are more confident & better critical thinkers because of the arts. Watch this video to see how else an arts education is impacting them.
