Special Thank-you
A very special thank-you to FOL member Jeff Strickler.
Since 2006, Jeff has donated his proceeds for his books, Big Sky Names, Skiers Guide to the Biggest Skiing in America (1st edition), Biggest Skiing in America (2nd edition), and Bozeman's backyard : names in the Madison, Gallatin and Bridger ranges: whispers of the past and reflections on nature to the Community Library. Throughout this time period over $10,000.00 has been generated from these sales. What an incredible gift! Thanks so much, Jeff, for sharing your talent for writing with us. If you would like to purchase any of his books, they are available at the library.
What a great way to support your library!
"One Book Big Sky"
From the bestselling author of HOTEL ON THE CORNER OF BITTER AND SWEET comes a powerful novel, inspired by a true story, about a boy whose life is transformed at Seattle’s epic 1909 World’s Fair.
For twelve-year-old Ernest Young, a charity student at a boarding school, the chance to go to the World’s Fair feels like a gift. But only once he’s there, amid the exotic exhibits, fireworks, and Ferris wheels, does he discover that he is the one who is actually the prize. The half-Chinese orphan is astounded to learn he will be raffled off—a healthy boy “to a good home.”
Jamie Ford is the great-grandson of Nevada mining pioneer Min Chung, who emigrated from Kaiping, China, to San Francisco in 1865, where he adopted the western name "Ford," thus confusing countless generations. (Amazon)
Books are currently available on a first come basis. A visit from Jamie Ford is scheduled Thursday, June 4th in the Community Library. We hope you'll join us.
Over Due Fines
Just recently we had a glitch in our system when e-mails were sent out to our patrons with books that had been checked out in the past and/or past due fines showing up on your library accounts. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.
Thanks for your understanding!
