2020 Bond projects taking shape!
A lot of progress has been made on the 2020 Capital Bond projects and we are very grateful for the funding for these specific projects for our students and community.
In addition to indoor learning spaces, several outdoor areas were updated this summer. Kamiak and Mariner high school received new baseball and softball turf infields and Kamiak High School’s tennis courts were resurfaced. Olympic View Middle School’s court renovation included lines for basketball and pickleball, making it usable for many different sports.
Construction progress at Mariner High School is beginning to take shape with steel beginning to go up last week. The stair-like structure in the construction photo is the “forum stairs” for the new commons. You can get a better idea of how this will all look from the architectural rendering.
The new construction will also include a new library and career counseling center and provide more space for the 2,000+ students who attend Mariner. This is going to be a great addition for the Mariner students and community! Construction scheduled to finish by fall of 2024. Thank you, voters!
If you’d like to see more details and photos of the bond projects’ progress, you can view the June 27 board presentation.
