To become a veterinarian at Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine you have to obtain is doctorate. Your degree field has to be veterinarian medicine. Then you have to become certified in a specialty of your choice. After that you must pass the North American Veterinary Licensing Exam to earn license. But, there may be additional license requirements specific to each state. The key skills you must have are: critical-thinking, complex problem-solving, decision-making, speaking, and active listening skills; proficiency with scientific software; physical dexterity to use x-ray, surgical, and laboratory equipment. After obtaining all the degrees, experiences, and skills, you can now start your own practice or work in someone else's.
