We understand that cell phones are a part of our everyday lives and are used for more than their original intent; which is to talk to others. The technology of today allows us to FaceTime, create group chats, and get turn by turn directions wherever we want to go.
Increasingly, we are finding group chat conversations and other cell phone activity that occurs outside of school, negatively impacting the teaching, learning, and peer relationships within Clover Street School. If not monitored, group chats can inadvertently create cliques and exclude certain students which can hinder a sense of belonging and inclusivity.
On Friday, October 20th from 2-2:30pm, fifth grade students will have an opportunity to engage in learning on how to safely use technology and the impact of social media. Fifth grade families, please feel free to join us.
