Mrs. Garza’s 2nd grade class
It was great to stop into Mrs. Garza’s 2nd grade class to see the students sharing their Personal Narrative Stories. The students did a great job of reading their stories as the rest of the students listened. This supports listening, speaking, reading and writing skills in the class.
5th Grade
Science Fair:
Look at all of these great projects. The classes enjoyed visiting the MPR to see all of the projects.
Projects will be on view tonight from 5:30 pm til 6:30 pm
Kindness Trait
Kindness is our trait for this month. Our Social Committee came up with an amazing activity for the students and staff. The students write a complement to a staff member on one of the hearts that they were given. They then put this on the staff members sheet. This is boosting everyone’s kindness here at Ventana Vista. I sure love all of the notes I have received so far.
Family Engagement Update
Bring in your books for the Book Exchange!
Thank you to the students who have brought in books for the book exchange so far.
As part of our Love of Reading event happening on Thursday, March 2 @ 5:30 pm, we will have a Book Exchange! Details are below.
- Students can bring their books now through Tuesday, February 28th.
- Picture books, easy reader chapter books, or chapter books are all great! Books should be Kindergarten through 5th grade reading levels.
- Books will be collected by Ms. Allison in the library. (She will track what kind of books and how many books each student brings.) Students can receive up to 5 tickets for the books they bring in.
- Students will receive tickets for the books they bring in as it gets closer to the book exchange.
- Then, at Love of Reading on March 2nd students will choose the same number of books that they brought in from the collection of other student's books. If they are unable to make it that night, we will have the books available on a cart on Friday, March 3 so they can choose at that time.
If you have questions, please contact Ms. Allison or Ms. Hawkins. Thank you!
