The Universal Design for Learning (UDL) Guidelines offer proactive considerations for teachers as they design a more accessible and equitable learning environment. In this course, we will delve into the key concepts of the UDL Guidelines and build your capacity in creating learning opportunities to empower students to become expert learners!

Come explore a variety of robots and physical computing devices that can be used to address both computer science and content standards in PreK-12 classrooms. Classroom teachers, teacher librarians, and instructional coaches will have time to explore using robots and physical computing devices, experience computer science specific instructional strategies, and utilize curated resources for each robot/physical computing device.

Playgrounds will be a combination of structured content and resource sharing, immersive computer science experiences, and informal networking to allow like-minded educators to connect and learn from each other.

In this hybrid course, participants will experience how Pear Deck works from a student and teacher perspective. Also, participants will learn and design lessons using the different presentation platforms offered by Pear Deck. Participants will also explore the role of feedback in formative assessment and reflect on how feedback can help to inform your teaching by utilizing this digital tool.

This hybrid course is mostly online, with one face-to-face kick-off meeting date on November 28th at 4:30-5:30.

The Grant Wood Digital Learning Team works with AEA 10 schools to help them integrate technology in the classroom. We work with teachers and administrators on-site and at Grant Wood facilities. Each school district is assigned a Technology Consultant from the Digital Learning Team to help facilitate the ways in which we can help schools improve teaching and learning with technology.
