A Message from Mr. Velotta
BMMS Families,
As we enter spring and the last month of school, I've continued to reflect on how we help our students learn and grow, not just academically, but socially, as well. Middle School is naturally a time for students to test boundaries, and to learn to maneuver social situations and peer conflict. It's a time to learn that "choices have consequences", and that making a bad choice does not make you a bad person. Most importantly, it's a time to learn that how you respond after a situation is the most telling aspect of a person's character. Since the beginning of the year I have worked to communicate this to students and families at BMMS. We have reviewed behavior expectations multiple times, (they continue to be linked below in every family newsletter), and administrators, school counselors, and classroom teachers regularly have personal conversations with students and families to reiterate these philosophies; and, we will continue to do so through the last day of school. We ask that all families continue to do the same!
Make it a great week!
-Tim
