Dear DRRHS Falcon Community:
April Is Distracted Driving Awareness Month. Today, the Dighton Police and Fire Departments joined forces with the DR Theatre Company to present a mock car accident scene. Juniors and seniors were invited to witness the scene and learn more about the potential life-changing ramifications of split-second decisions. Please see the Distracted and Impaired Driving Newsletter for more information and resources about how to start a conversation with your teen about this serious topic. A special thanks to SRO Bennett for organizing today's event.
Sincerely,
Gail DeCecco, Principal
Donald Izzo, Assistant Principal for Grades 10 & 12
Ai-Ling Chang, Assistant Principal for Grades 9 & 11

AN APRIL VACATION TO REMEMBER!
International travel is back! Ms. Keane chaperoned seven D-R students on an trip to Portugal and Spain, while Mrs. Loell, Ms. Tache, and Ms. Hamlin accompanied twenty students on a trip to Switzerland, Italy, and France this past April vacation. First they went to Zurich, Lucerne, and the roof of the Swiss Alps. On Mount Rigi they endured a snow squall before they enjoyed a fondue dinner. The dinner was a highlight of the trip as it had live authentic folk music including learning to yodel. Next they traveled to Verona and Venice, Italy to see Juliette’s balcony and take a gondola ride. After a bus ride, they arrived in Rome and Vatican City to visit the Sistine Chapel, St. Peter’s Basilica, the Roman Forum and the Colosseum. In Florence they shopped for leather and toured the city. Before leaving Italy, they ate lots of pizza, pasta, and gelato. On the way to France they stopped in Pisa to take some great photos holding up the tower. In the French Riviera, they learned how perfume was made, sat on the beach in Nice, and marveled at the riches in the principality of Monaco. To arrive quickly to their final stop, the city of light, Paris; they took the TGV, Train à grande vitesse. In Paris they smiled at the Mona Lisa, ate boeuf bourguignon in the Latin Quarter, caught a glimpse of the Notre Dame Cathedral, and watched the Eiffel Tower sparkle from an evening boat cruise on the Seine. Mrs. Loell and all the chaperones were very impressed by the students' attention and ability to respect and learn about these amazing cultures. She can’t wait to go on the next trip to London, Paris, Rome and Pompeii in April 2024!
FALCON PRIDE
Each year, the South Coast Conference hosts a luncheon event to honor and celebrate the top 5 academic students in the graduating class. The event, known as the Academic All-Star Luncheon, brings together all 10 member schools' top 5 graduates, along with their respective NHS Advisor, Principal, and Superintendent. This year, Independence Harbor was the venue. Every detail of the day was spectacular. We are most proud of our All-Stars: Hayden Bessette, Andrew DaCruz, Ella Damon, Kate Lewandowski, and Nathaniel Wheeler. A special thanks to Mr. Pacheco for serving as NHS Advisor and presenter and to Dr. Souza who graciously filled in for Mr. Runey,
