A message from the principal
Dear Parents,
The school year is off to a good start. As the weather changes it is important for your child to dress for the cold during recess. Once there is snow on the ground your child will need a hat, coat, mittens, snow pants, and boots to play in the snow during recess. Please mark with your child's name on all outerwear as many children have the same clothing. Students will go out for recess every day if the temperature is zero or above or 10 degrees below windchill. If you need assistance providing winter gear for your child call the school social worker at 763-506-2631, and she will be happy to help you.
As winter arrives there may be additional cars dropping off/picking up students. Please follow all guidelines including getting in the vehicle line, exiting children on the sidewalk side of the car, placing the name sign in the window, and not blocking driveways. Staff will work as fast as possible to match students with vehicles. This is a slower process in the cold months due to vehicle volume and snow along the sidewalks and walkways.
The City of Anoka Children's Parade is on October 28th. Franklin Grades 1-5 will walk in the parade. The parade starts at 1:15 pm. Your child's teacher will share information about the day soon.
