ALL BULLDOG
October 2-7, 2023 Marysville Jr/Sr High School
Principal's Note
The Class of 1963 had a blast coming together Saturday for their 60th class reunion. I got to be their tour guide and much like the Class of 1962 a year ago, they had fun looking at all the changes and things that were the same. Both classes felt like the old Home Economics Room (Sandmann's FACS) was pretty similar but with new appliances. But both classes were shocked that Mrs. Sandmann's back room wasn't full of sewing machines. Once I explained all the great things going on in our FACS program, they were impressed with all the changes. The class of 1963 was also impressed with the facilities they found all around their old school. That's a perfect segue to the folks who take care of our facilities here at MJSHS. It's National Custodian Appreciation Day Monday, and I just want to say thanks to our entire custodial staff for all they do to keep our buildings and grounds in great shape! We appreciate you!

She will also discuss priority application deadlines, application fee waivers, FAFSA changes, where local scholarships can be found, and other things needed during the school year such as housing contracts. Parents, please look for an email with the information that was discussed.
Junior year is the year to be exploring your post-secondary options. Please be going on college visits to the schools that you are interested in. Visits are easy to make if you go to the school website and search for a visit. You will be able to put the info needed such as name, address, program, and they will be able to give you available days. When you are gone from school please let your teachers know and make up missed work. Have your parents/guardian call the school and let them know you will be on a college visit. If you bring something back to the office to show that you went such as a brochure or agenda it will be recorded as an excused absence. You are able to take 2 college visits and have them be excused during your junior year and another 2 during your senior year.
Highland has openings in their CNA and CMA classes. For High school Juniors and Seniors, the class is free of charge. They do need a TB skin test and a COVID record either a letter stating against beliefs or a COVID shot record. We also need the online application done for the fall of 2023.
