Welcome to our new CTS Snapshot - a weekly celebration update. We are delighted to share with parents and carers alike student triumphs at Corby Technical School. We are proud of every student and every success they have - please feel free to share with us any achievements they might have.

RAIR Workshop
Students have taken part in a RAIR (Raising Aspirations and Increasing Resilience) workshop with Paralympic medallist Alistair Patrick-Heselton. Students were set a variety of skill based challenges that required them to work together as a team.
Year 9 RSCS Project
Year 9 students have been working on a budgeting project in RSCS with Miss Bridges where they were given a budget to furnish a home. Pictured are some the students with their work.
Positively MAD
Positively MAD visited school this week and hosted a Study Skills session to Year 10 and 11 students. The overall aim is to help students develop strategies they can then apply during exams.
Stars of the Week
Students
- Mr Rogers has nominated Leonardo 10T and Freddie 10S for their excellent progress in their GCSE PE practicals.
- Mr Crook and Mr Harley would like to congratulate their Year 11 Product Design students who have created some amazing work towards their GCSE. They have shown great commitment and their practical work is fantastic. Students who have been recognised for their hard work are Tiegan 11S, Kian 11C, Chloe 11C and Will 11S.
- Miss Longhurst has nominated her Year 9 History students for their continuous hard work on their recent Germany module.
- Mr Rogers has nominated Amber 9C, Kelci 9C, Bella 9T and Caitlin 9T who played in the District and County Badminton Finals and finished 4th overall. Well done girls!
- Mr Rogers has also nominated Shaylan 7S and Rhys 7C for the fantastic racing games they created in Computer Science.
- Mr Chatfield has nominated Lacy, Summer and Cory 7C for their participation and supporting fellow students in PE challenges.
- Mr Rogers would like to nominate Logan and Ollie 9T for the dedication and leadership they have shown during Year 9 football.
- Miss Watt has nominated the following students for their hard work in German this term resulting in excellent grades, Alyssa and Ellie, 7T, Mya and Tamsyn 7S, Hana and Halle 8T and Jack and Luke 8S.
- Miss Connellan has nominated Tamsyn 7S for her fantastic effort and brilliant answers in English.
- Miss Connellan has also nominated Carly 9C for excellent work in English and beautiful presentation, and Caitlin and Bronwyn 9T for their hard work in English.
- Mr Cox has nominated Musa and Emily 9C for their great work in Science using magnification equation.
- Mr Cox has also nominated Connor 11T for great engagement on the behaviour topic in Science and Luc, Frederico and Tomasz 10S, Katie and Daniela 10C and Hannah 10T for their hard work in Science resulting in great mid year results.
- Mr Horne has nominated Vanessa 11C for consistent progress in Maths.
- Mr McRae-Smith has nominated the following students for excellent vocabulary work in German, Sam, Klaudia, Grace and Lucas 7C, Max, Abbie and Mason 8C, Alex, Maddie, Musa, Lewis and Emily 9C and Baixu and Amelia 9T.
- Mrs Ferns would like to say well done to her Year 8 Maths students for fantastic term 3 results, in particular, Hana 8T and Abbie, Damian, Sophie, Amber and Indira 8C.
Staff
- 8S have nominated Mr McDonnell and Mrs Trueman for their fun and exciting Science lessons.
- Andreas 9C has nominated Miss Kidner in the Library for always helping students with their book choices and her great suggestions.
- Mr Wilson has nominated the English department for their continuous support of Year 11 in the build up to the exams.
- Mr Wilson has also nominated Mr Bidwell for his hard work during Mental Health week and for his continual hard work on the assembly programme.
- Jamie 10T has nominated Miss Fenner for her support when working on Shakespeare in English and making learning easier.

Reminders
- Drama Performance - A Midsummer Night's Dream. Performances will be on Wednesday 1st and Thursday 2nd March at 7.00pm on both evenings in the George Weston Theatre. Tickets are priced at £2 for adults and £1.50 for students and are available at school reception.
- Information Evening for the 2018 Ski Trip will be held on Wednesday 1st March at 6.15pm. A letter has been given to students today.
