Supervised Agricultural Experiences
"Ag students have been working on their Supervised Agricultural Experiences (SAE's) all year and it is finally time to show off their projects," Ag teacher Ms. Seal said.
Some students researched careers, some students shadowed veterinarians or welders, a few students are now in paid internships, and lastly a small number of our students have started their own businesses!
Here's just a few of the terrific projects:
Jake Bennett started out shadowing a Veterinarian for this project and now has a paid placement at Grote Vet Clinic here in Weatherford.
Cayde Taylor and Zach Norsworthy have started their own Lawn Mowing Company, and have already started making a profit.
Cheyanne Nellen started her own quilting company, currently selling pot holders but hopes to grow her business and eventually make full size quilts.
Fernando Rodriguez raises Rhode Island Red Chickens and sells Farm Fresh Eggs.
Congratulations on your success, Roos!
DECA Students Earn First Place - #ItsNoJoke
Congratulations to both Kelly Newman and Bailey Williams who placed first place last week in the DECA Six Flags Print Ad Contest advertising the new Joker Ride.

Congratulations, Kelly and Bailey!

Dallas/Fort Worth Admissions Regional Network (DARN) Available for WHS Students
DARN is a community of professional college and university representatives who serve students and their families in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. Whether working from home offices or in regional centers, over 50 colleges and universities are represented within DARN. DARN is committed to collaborating with high school and college counselors to provide education access and resources centered on each student’s needs for his/her future endeavors in higher education. You can find a list of the member institutions at our website www.texasdarn.com.
Each summer DARN puts on a College Search Series in the DFW area. The College Search Series is a program for high school students (rising sophomores, juniors, and seniors) where we provide students with all the information they need to navigate their college search, in the form of a College 101 presentation for one hour, and then college table browsing for the second hour. Students will be able to browse both public and private, in-state and out-of-state institutions.
Here is a link where students can register to attend. http://goo.gl/forms/XsIhZ7jiJs
Although registration is not required, it gives them a good idea of how many students will be attending each event.
