Dear Lubbock-Cooper Middle School Families,
This week we had one of our own students recognized on our local news broadcasting networks for his success in publishing his own book! Congratulations Joao (John) Sganzerla! We are very proud of your accomplishments.
We also got a great presentation during the day from one of Ms. Livingston’s Dance Classes. Thank you ladies! We greatly enjoyed your performance.

Tennis Highlights
Great job to all of our Tennis Teams this week. Here are the results from Coach Murphy:
Red Team: The boys came out strong in this match going 8-1 propelling us to a 13-5 win over LBMS.
Black Team: Everyone came to play today, The girls made quick work of LBMS going 9-0. The boys held their own leading us to a 15-3 overall win over LBMS.
White Team: The girls continued to shine and show how deep this team is as they went 6-0 to take 8-4 win over LBMS.

LCP Band Spectacular
Join the LCP Band Family for a Night of Music and Celebration! Our Pirates and Patriots will be showcasing their 2023 UIL Marching Shows. Performances will also feature our LBMS and LCMS Band Programs!
8th Grade Banquet Fundraiser
The Class of 2028 Parent Committee is holding a drawing to help fund the Eighth Grade Banquet! Eighth-grade students wanting to sell tickets or any individual wanting to purchase tickets can text 806-241-3444 (or join the Class of 2028 GroupMe)!
Homecoming Tailgate - Friday, October 6 - LCMS Football Field @ 4:30-6:30
LCMS Students! Come join us in the fun with our first ever Homecoming Tailgate Event!
When: Friday, October 6 - 4:30-6:30PM
What: Photos, Food Trucks, Yard Games, and Fun!
Where: LCMS Football Field and Parking Lot
Who: LCMS Students Only
Be Prepared:
- Wristbands will be sold the week of Homecoming (October 2-6) for LCMS students for $5 each at lunches.
- Bring $5-$10 for Food Trucks
- Bring $1 for Spirit Bandana for the HS Football Game
- Students will be able to straight to the tailgate from school but backpacks are not allowed at the game! Parents will need to make arrangements to pick up backpacks.

School Information
Absences - Parents are to report student absences including early outs/late arrivals in their Skyward Family Access via an attendance request. This can be done in the app or on a desktop. Click here to view a how to video When submitting an Early Out or Late Arrival absence request, please be sure to UNSELECT the ‘all day check mark’. This ensures the attendance office knows what time your child will be leaving and/or arriving. Campus attendance email is for submitting documentation, such as a doctors note. If you have any questions please contact Annie Young ayoung@lcisd.net or by calling the front office.

Outside Food Delivery - Due to security concerns, no outside entity (DoorDash, Pizza delivery, etc.) will not be allowed to drop off lunches for students. Parents/Guardians may bring a lunch for their students. Lunches can be dropped off in the front office in the marked shelving area. Please be sure your student knows they are getting lunch so they can come pick it up in the office.

Skyward - Lubbock-Cooper ISD provides parents access to their children's records via our student information system, Skyward Family Access. Skyward Family Access maintains an open line of communication between school and home, and allows parents and students the opportunity to view grades, attendance information, schedules, calendars, and additional information any time of day. Student Badges - All students must have their badges on them at all times. Badges will be used everyday to include: Bus Riding, Lunch Purchase, Library Checkout, etc.
Transportation - If your child will be riding the bus this year, you MUST complete the Transportation Request Form that can be found here. Student badges will be used to ensure the safety of your students this year. Campuses will be able to know exactly where and when students are dropped off and/or picked up.

Communities in Schools
The Pirate Pantry is in need of the following items at this time. Please drop these off at your convince to the front office.
*Please Note: the clothing requested for the pirate pantry does not have to be new unless it’s under garments. We do take gently used items but ask that they are in good condition with no rips or stains on them.
- Girls Tights s-xxl preferably black
- Boys youth athletic pants s-xxl
- Laundry soap-small backpack size
- Individually wrapped snacks-no nuts please
- Cases of bottled water
