December 5th, 2022
Principal's Corner; Ms. Sonya Pitcock
Cougar families,
We are quickly winding down to the end of the first semester of the year. We have seen great growth in your children in many ways and are proud of what they are accomplishing. Thank you for your generous donations for Curtis Cares Day. It was a great success with all students participating in some way.
Here weres the totals:
- 84 Door decorations & 345 lunch sacks for Samaritan Inn,
- 173 Hygiene kits for the homeless to Dorcas Heart,
- 273 gratitude goodie bags for the AISD service center (transportation & Nutrition/ Food departments),
- 96 animal beds and 141 chew toys to Richardson, Allen, and Collin Country animal shelters,
- 344 Busy bags for Children’s Hospital Plano,
- 125 Socks for Seniors, and 112 Puzzle bags for seniors,
- 300 craft kits for Jewish Family House,
- several pounds of food for the ACO, AND several holiday cards and ornaments!
We will have end of unit and end of semester exams the week of December 12 – 16. Please see the schedule below. Some exams will be in the form of projects or final activities, some will be the end of the unit tests. The only exams that will be cumulative will be the classes that are high school credit. We encourage our students to study and prepare and to do their best. Friday will be used to complete any missing assignments, finish tests, and have a little time to relax with their peers and teachers.
December 16 is an early release day and students will be dismissed at 12:35. We will have lunches on campus that day with only C lunch being about 10 minutes shorter than normal. Buses will run at 12:35.
We wish all our families a wonderful holiday season and happy new year! Students will return to campus on Wednesday, January 4.
Happy Holiday,
Sonya Pitcock
