Back live on stage and better than ever, Eastview High School Performing Arts Department presents BRAVO! 2022: The Best of BRAVO! Celebrating our 25th year of entertaining audiences with incredible singing, music, and dance, this year's production will showcase some of our favorites since 1997. You are not going to want to miss it!

Performance dates are:

April 19 at 3:30pm - Senior Preview

April 21, 22, 23 at 7:30pm

April 24 at 2:00pm

April 28, 29, 30 at 7:30pm

Ticket Prices are:

Adults: $9

Seniors: $7

Students/children: $5

All seats are reserved. Tickets are on sale now at Vanco Events. Tickets are non-refundable, unless the event is canceled or postponed.

The Attendance Office is looking for facial tissue (Kleenex) donations. if you can help, please drop off your donations at the Attendance Office next week. Thank you!

Every Wednesday students can benefit from an opportunity for academic support from 2:45pm – 4:15pm in the Learning Commons. Students are supported to complete their schoolwork learning in a supervised setting. Faculty and staff are available along with upper-class peer tutors (especially skilled in Mathematics). Students will identify their priorities (“What I Need” or “What’s Important Now”), create a plan for the most efficient use of their time, celebrate their accomplishments, and leave with a plan for continued success. Students do not need to sign up in advance for WIN Time. We do ask that students plan to be there for the start at 2:45pm so they can benefit from the full support. We will keep a log of students and their engagement (arrival/departure time and their focus/work while they are there). For students needing transportation home, activity buses will be available departing at 5:15pm.

The final day of Quarter 3 is Friday, April 8.

Students in District 196 will be provided breakfast and lunch at no cost during the 2021-22 school year due to a grant provided by the U.S. Dept. of Agriculture. All families are still encouraged to complete an Educational Benefits Application, formerly the free and reduced-price meals application. Upon approval, these benefits are extended to Activities/Athletics fees and more. A new application must be submitted each year.

Senior Families: Graduation is 53 days away! How's your checklist coming?

1. Grad Fee is due this Friday, April 15th. $40 fee is payable on MyPaymentsPlus. Students with Educational Benefits have this fee waived, but still need to complete the checkout process in MyPaymentsPlus.

2. Keep watching this space in the Announcements for up-to-date information about graduation and the all-night grad party. You can also check out the Senior Information page on our website.

Celebrate your Senior with a custom poster that is hung up in the Eastview halls the last week of school and for the senior party! They can then bring them home and use them at a grad party as well! These posters can be ordered created through Cornerstone Printing or you can hand make them and have them laminated at Cornerstone. See attached flyer (more info to come in the parent emails).

The 2022 All-Night Senior Party is a chemical-free lock-in at EVHS on June 4, 2022 from 10:00 pm to 4:00 am. Students will enjoy a night filled with music, games, activities, food, prizes and more! Each year this party is a highlight for graduating seniors with at least 80% of the class attending. All April ticket registrations will be entered into a drawing to win a Card My Yard!!

STORAGE ROOM NEEDED

For the past several years, a former EV parent had generously donated a locked storage room in the basement of a business in Lakeville. We need to vacate this facility in June 2022 and are in need of a new space! Can anyone help?! This could be a lockable room in a business building, an actual storage space, or any other creative ideas people have! The EVHS Family and Consumer Science Department is excited to announce that Playschool is back! Playschool will run Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays, April 25th -June 1st, from 8:45am-11:05am. This program is for 3-5 year olds and the cost will be $30 for the spring session. If you have a pre-schooler or know of a family who would be interested please complete this form and return it to me. All students/math levels welcome!

Students should stop by the Counseling Office and get a pass to attend the college/university/military Rep Visit prior to the right visit. These university/college or military visits are small group meetings typically lasting 20-30 minutes. These admission reps are often times the same people that review college applications, so it's a great connection for students.

VARSITY SPORTS

Eastview High School Varsity Baseball beat Farmington High School 7-4 (April 11)

The Lightning Varsity Baseball team opened their season by defeating the defending state champs from Farmington 7-4. The Lightning were led on the mound with 14 strikeouts from starting pitcher TJ Egan. Egan went five innings to pick up the win. Ezra Formaneck went the last two innings to pick up the save.

The offense was led by Dahltyn Virnig's 3 hits and 3 runs scored. Josh Schaefer chipped in with 2 hits and 2 runs scored as well. Benjy Vandeberg's 2 RBI single in the 6th inning gave the Lightning the separation they needed to finish the game on top.

The Lightning will be back in action again on Wednesday with another road test at Apple Valley.

The Climate Action Club is meeting this Thursday, April 14th at 2:35 pm in C337 to plan something for Earth Day. Everyone is welcome. Hope to see you there!

Please congratulate the following FCCLA members at they competed at the State Conference are National Qualifiers. Our chapter earned a Chapter of Excellence Award, 10 Power of One National project certificates, 6 Gold Medals and 10 Silver medals. They will attend the National Leadership Conference in San Diego, CA this June.

These members completed 5 Units in the Power of One National Project: They will be recognized with a pin and certificate and stage recognition at the National Leadership Conference in San Diego, CA.
