- Welcome Mr. Gurczeski! Mountain View is pleased to introduce Mr. Jared Gurczeski, our new 6th grade Science teacher (effective 10/29). Mr. Gurczeski served as a long term substitute at Mountain View last year, replacing Mrs. Ascione, and is currently in the floating substitute position. - Mountain View will recognize Red Ribbon Week from October 28 - November 1. Since 1985, the National Red Ribbon Campaign has worked to educate youth on the dangers of drug use and promote prevention. On October 28, all students will attend a presentation about the dangers of vaping (see flyer below and note the parent presentation). Students are also encouraged to wear red. Morning announcements throughout the week will reinforce the importance of staying drug-free.
- Students will be permitted to wear Halloween costumes to school on Thursday, October 31 with the following stipulations: faces must be identifiable (no masks or face paint that covers the face), no weapons, no costumes in poor taste, no attire that violates the district dress code, and no costumes that disrupt the learning environment. Should you have questions regarding the above policy, please contact the school.
- Attention 8th grade parents: Please sign and return the WMMHS Music Articulation permission slip by Friday, November 1.
- A note from the Health Office: There have been several cases of head lice reported within our district. Please be sure to check your child's scalp and hair for signs of itching or redness behind the ears and at the nape of the neck. Please notify your School Nurse if you discover headlice.
