This week we get to celebrate our Hawks View families! We simply could not do this work without your partnership and consider it a privilege to work alongside you. The fact that you entrust us with your child(ren) each day is not something we take for granted. Whether it’s through email check-ins, volunteering, or joining us for conferences and events, thank you for all you do!

In addition to our families, it’s important to recognize the considerable time, effort and energy put forth by our incredible PAC and PAC Board Members. This group of parents is extremely dedicated to Hawks View and enriching the experience for ALL students. Check out many of the activities and opportunities we’ve had thanks to PAC and our families!

Passport Club, Chess Club, Art Literacy, PAC funded teacher grants, and other enrichment programs.

Fundraisers led by PAC and supported by families/students allow us to enhance our building with various projects. These include our new sound system and Hawks View logo in Gym 1 and the Courtyard play area near the PreK-2nd grade classrooms. Additionally, PAC team members spend hours of time decorating our bulletin boards around the school, which adds color and fun to our walls.

There are a lot of fun opportunities for staff/families to gather and build community throughout the year. Many are led by PAC and include parent volunteers to help the events run smoothly. These include: Back to School Night, Fun Run, Movie Night, Talent Show, Carnival, Glow Stick Dance Party, Popcorn Fridays…and so much more!

Our annual “Welcome Back Breakfast” & Staff Appreciation Week are just two of the ways PAC and our families make our staff feel special. Our staff works incredibly hard and the support and love we feel is invaluable.

Our Site Council meets with our school team three times a year and helps with input and guidance regarding upcoming events or current school operations. They’re eager to learn about Hawks View, always come with great questions and contribute to the school-parent partnership in a meaningful way.

Registration for our fall kindergarten students is now open! We have created a special edition newsletter for our Fall 2024 Kindergarten families! The newsletter can be found linked below, and includes information about registration, Kindergarten Open House, and other upcoming kindergarten events. If you know of a family that will have a kindergartener at Hawks View in the fall (age 5 by or on September 1st), but is not yet a part of our school to receive this information, please share the newsletter link below with them!

On Wednesday, February 14th, Nutrition Services celebrated Valentine's Day with our students by offering a whole-grain rich, pink frosted sugar cookie and an all red salad bar featuring fresh strawberries, apples, bell peppers, cherry tomatoes and more. Happy Valentine's Day Sherwood Students!

The annual Sherwood High School Bowmen Pageant will be held Saturday Feb. 24 at 6pm in the SHS auditorium. Advanced online tickets are $10 through Thursday Feb. 22. Tickets can also be purchased at the event for $15 (cash or check only).
