Presidential Award Winners

Kudos to our Presidential Award winners from the 2022-23 school year. Certain criteria need to be met in order for students to receive these awards. At the heart of them are persistence and hard work, not just for a semester or a year, but the duration of their middle school careers.

The President's Education Awards Program is awarded on behalf of the President of the United States and the United States Secretary of Education and was founded in 1983.

This year’s recipients of the President’s Award for Educational Excellence demonstrated superior academic success in the classroom. Congrats to Johnny Robinson and Faye Schuette!

Old King Cole

Old King Cole found his way to Kindergarten from Mother Goose Land! The students love acting out the rhymes!

Perfect Attendance

These middle school students earned perfect attendance this past school year! Congrats to them for their dedication and understanding that school attendance is an important factor in overall academic success -- Peyton Brant and Stephanie Wallace.

Shisima

4th graders have learned about goalball, a Paralympic sport for individuals with visual impairments, as well as a board game from Kenya called Shisima in Adventure Camp this summer!

Freckle Juice

3rd graders read the book "Freckle Juice" the first week of summer school adventure camp and even made their own freckle juice! The ingredients are: grape juice, mayo, olive oil, mustard, vinegar, salt/pepper, lemon, and garlic powder. Thumbs up are kids who liked it; thumbs down who couldn’t stomach it!

Food Drive

4th Grade Adventure Camp students will be collecting non-perishable food items for the next couple of weeks and will be donating the items to Southwest CAP in Dodgeville. On the last day of summer school (Thursday 7/27), the class will travel to Southwest CAP to help put together food bags and to donate the received items. If you're interested in donating, please drop items off at the elementary school office or send to summer school with your student. Thank you!

Substitute Teacher Training

We'd love to have you join our sub pool! You can get licensed in time for the new school year. There will be a Substitute Teacher Training held in Conference Room A at CESA 3 in Fennimore at 9 am on August 3. Lunch is included. This training is one of the requirements for a sub license in Wisconsin (including the minimum of an associate's degree). Instruction will end at 2 pm. Registrants with questions or needing assistance with the license application can stay after the workshop to receive help.
