Thank you everyone for helping to make our Read-A-Thon fundraiser such a tremendous success! We raised nearly twice our fundraising goal of $2500. At last count, our tally was close to $4500 and we still have pledges trickling in!! The staff has been brainstorming ideas for school-wide events or programs, like Northern Stars Planetarium, or local field trips. Some of the funds will be dispersed for teachers to purchase items for their classrooms. Once again, the generosity of the Phippsburg community has amazed me!

Next week will be a short week for students, due to the professional development day on Friday. Teachers will start their day at Woolwich Central School, where they will work with their colleagues.

If you have not already done so, please sign up for a parent-teacher conference. Conferences will be held in the afternoon and evening of March 23rd.

For the first time since COVID, we have a parent volunteer-Chelsea Antoinette-to create our PES year book! Keep an eye out for information going out next month. Fifth graders and parents, keep an eye out for a baby picture request-start looking for that picture now-and the fifth grade interests and quote form. If you would like to place an ad in the yearbook, half page: $35, quarter page: $20, e-mail photos/ads to chelseamayantoinette@gmail.com. Please write check out to: Phippsburg Elementary School.

Do you, or someone you know, have a child living in Phippsburg that will be five by October 15th? If so, they are eligible for our full-day kindergarten class. Please call Mrs. Doran at 389-1514, and we'll add them to the list for this fall, contact you before we hold Parent Information Night and Kindergarten registration May 17th at 6PM and Kindergarten screening June 2nd. Advance notice helps us to ensure we have enough materials. We look forward to assisting you.

Parents wishing to send their children to an RSU1 school other than in their town of residence must complete a School Choice Application for the 2023-2024 school year and return it to the Superintendent's Office, 34 Wing Farm Parkway, Bath, ME 04530. The deadline for applications is May 1, 2023; decisions will be made in June. Decisions will be made on a first come, first served basis, pending availability of grade level slots. A separate application must be completed for each child. If you need a paper copy, contact Mrs. Doran.

Your PTA is looking for someone to fill the role of Treasurer at the end of this school year. This individual should be detail oriented, able to work numbers, balance a checkbook, and pass a basic background check. Attending PTA meetings is NOT a requirement.
