CTE Delivers Real Options for Students for College and Rewarding Careers
- CTE programs allow students to explore a range of options for their future-inside and outside the classroom.
- Through CTE, students can start their path toward a career that they are passionate about, while earning valuable experience, college credits and more.
- CTE students are more likely to have a post-high school plan, including college-than other students; just two percent of CTE students say they “don’t know” what they will do after high school.

FBLA Week
Future Business Leaders of America celebrated FBLA week in celebration of CTE (Career and Technical Education) month. Throughout the week the Sophomores planned the activities to spread awareness of the importance of acquiring business and leadership skills by being involved in CTE courses and CTSOs (Career and Technical Student Organizations) such as FBLA. Each day was framed with recognizing CTE teachers, sending Valentine's day cards to St. Jude patients, and networking with members with waffles on Wednesday.
The highlight of the week was a visit from city councilman Steve Massengale who came to present the proclamation and special recognition for our FBLA chapter. Sophomores Alexis Trevino and Delayney Zalman with assistance from the Chapter President Ryan Purdy and the sophomore members did an amazing job in planning a great week for FBLA.

TEA School Report Card
Each year, TEA releases the School Report Card for each campus in the state. This measures how much students are learning in each grade and whether or not they are ready for the next grade. It also shows how well a school or district prepares their students for success after high school in college, the workforce, or the military. State accountability ratings are based on three domains: Student Achievement, School Progress, and Closing the Gaps. Scores are scaled from 0 to 100 to align with letter grades. You may access those school report cards by clicking the link to the report card in the letters attached below.
