Principal's Welcome Back Letter
Save the Dates: Student Prep Days
The first day of the new school year is Monday, August 16th. We are looking forward to welcoming students back for the 2021-2022 school year, in-person. Prior to the first day of school, prep days for students will be held to ensure they are ready for the new school year. Please save the dates as we look ahead to starting the year sTRong.
- August 4 - Seniors (12th graders) will be able to come up from 8am - 10am to receive their draft schedules, student IDs, and more important information for the new year.
- August 4 - Juniors (11th graders) will be able to come up from 10am - 12 noon to receive their draft schedules, student IDs, and more important information for the new year.
- August 12 - All incoming Sophomores and Freshmen (9th and 10th graders), along with their families, will be able to join us from 6pm - 8pm in the TR courtyard to be welcomed, gain information, have opportunity to get involved in campus clubs/organizations, and feel a sense of Rider Pride as they get Rough Rider Ready.

Roosevelt Family Specialist
Melissa Mendiola is Roosevelt's Family Specialist. Her email is mmendi2@neisd.net. Ms. Mendiola is available to assist with any needs or issues in a student's home life that can negatively affect a student's ability to excel at school. She is able to provide support and services for all students and their families, creating a true connection between home, school, and community. The family specialist's role is to bridge the gap of communication between parents, the school, and the community and provide resources to families who are experiencing barriers, and to empower all parents to fulfill their role as child’s first teacher.
Important Policy Reminders
In order to begin on a safe and successful note, students and parents are reminded of the following policies:
- During the 2021–2022 school year, NEISD will no longer require clear backpacks for students at our middle and high school campuses. However, our clear bag policy for events will remain the same. Click here for a link to view the clear bag policy for events.
- Students are not allowed to have food deliveries to Roosevelt campus at any time (from Uber Eats, grub hub, restaurants, etc)
