Message From Principal Adam Mitchell
What a wonderful day of sunshine today! It's amazing how a little bit good weather perks people up!
This is an exciting time of the year at SHS as we have formally started our process of helping the current 8th graders to become freshmen next year! I personally am very passionate about this work because it is the last school (in theory) that the students will attend before they move into adulthood. Why would I bring this up to high school families when it is about students that are not at SHS yet? We believe that everyone at our school plays pivotal roles in welcoming our new students each year, and continuing the outstanding and supportive culture that is Sherwood High School. Throughout this process, we involve many staff members, counselors, administrators, middle school staff, and students to collectively create a transition experience that is welcoming and productive. Our current students play an important role in setting a positive example and showing our youngest students how to be the best Bowmen they can be. Please take a minute at some time soon to talk with your student about how they can prepare to be great role models for students younger than them, that is truly how we create a great culture at our school. Thank you!
We have our annual Incoming Freshmen Night at 6:30pm on Monday, 2/26. We look forward to seeing the Class of 2028 and their families that night!
Have a great weekend and Go Bowmen!
Mr. Mitchell

This is an opportunity for students and parents to meet some of our amazing staff members, learn more about Sherwood High School, receive more information regarding Course Selection, and tour our beautiful campus. Sherwood High School has two parking lots - one directly in front of the building and another upper lot above the main campus entrance. SHS ACT Opportunity on April 24th - Sign Up Required
Sherwood High School will offer all 11th grade students an opportunity to take the ACT exam on Wednesday, April 24th. There is no registration fee.
The ACT is a multiple choice exam that is used as an official college entrance exam. This test features questions in four subject areas: English/language arts, math, reading, and science, and there is also an essay as part of the exam. Click here for more information about the ACT.
Testing will occur at the Sherwood School District Office - 21920 Southwest Sherwood Boulevard, Sherwood, OR 97140, and begin promptly at 8:50AM. Shuttle buses will be provided from SHS to the district office, and lunch will be provided if requested on the registration form. Students may drive and park at Sherwood School District Office if they so choose.
Testing occurs via a chromebook. Students need to bring their school chromebook with them on the day of testing, as well as an approved calculator.
Interested students and families can register for the ACT using this registration form. There is no walk-in registration for this test session. Sign-ups for the ACT close on Friday, April 5th.
Electronic Report Cards
Beginning in March 2024, the Sherwood School District will provide families with electronic report cards for all students, starting with the report cards for Trimester 2. As we move to this paperless option, report card delivery to all families will default to "paperless-only," and paper report cards will no longer be mailed home.
If you would prefer to receive a paper copy of your child’s report card, you can opt out of the electronic-only option in your ParentVUE account. For opt-out instructions, please visit our website at https://sherwood.k12.or.us/electronic-report-cards/ or contact your school office for assistance.
Nominate a Bowmen Game Changer
As you may have heard, the Sherwood School District is engaged in many activities to Celebrate our schools, our students, our staff, and our community. At Sherwood High School, we would love your help in recognizing our staff members who are doing amazing things for our students and families. When you have any positive and exceptional experienced or interactions with our staff, please use the button below to share those with us! We will share that information with the staff member, as well as use any submissions to help identify a staff member of the month that we will recognize at our staff meetings! Bring on those great stories, thank you!
Confer's Corner:
Being a Bowmen is not always easy, but it is worth it! It is about being open and understanding, open-minded and willing to listen and learn from different perspectives and it is about being aware of how our actions and words impact others.
As a Bowmen we expect our students to not cause or encourage harm to others. Being a Bowmen is doing what is right, even if no one is watching. Let's Go Bowmen!
