The iCenter will again host a Tournament of the Books for March Madness this year. But unlike last year, we are getting the list of contenders out to you in time for some power reading! These are all quality books, many were chosen by students, and all are recommended by your librarian! Please encourage your students to read as many as possible, and in March we will see which title is our new champion!

Waukesha School District is teaming with Waukesha Public Library to offer extended services to our students. The young adult librarians will be here at Horning several times per month to offer Lunch Bunch to any interested students: games, activities, book talks. Students just need to sign up on the linked form and bring their lunch on the offered dates. We look forward to seeing you there!

Site Council is Horning’s family/parent advisory group. Our mission is to build our school community, and to support our learners, families, academics and activities. Spring is on the way which means another exciting season of Track & Field is right around the corner. All of the coaches are very excited for the season to start and we know the students are as well.

Students can sign up for the track team during lunch in the week before spring break. If your student is interested in joining they should sign up and get the packet of information at that time. Practice starts on Tuesday, April 2nd for all athletes. There will be an informational parent meeting after practice on Thursday, April 4th at 4:00 pm.

6th grade track and field is going to be offered starting on Friday May 17. The track season for 6th grade is short introductory season that consists of three practices and one meet at Carroll University against the other middle schools in the city. There will be more information about the 6th grade track season at a later date.
