Buffalo Express

We have had a great week of learning at BES and students enjoyed browsing through the Book Fair. A few items of note:

• Fastbridge- This week all of our students in grades K-6 participated in a reading screener called Fastbridge. This screener will provide us with information so that we can provide appropriate supports for students of all reading needs at BES and in Shawnee Heights. We are excited to look at our data and provide closer differentiation for students.
  

• ECSE Para and Subs- Our greatest challenge right now is finding subs when our staff are absent. We also are adding an additional para for our Early Childhood Special Education program as our classes are fuller than in years past.

• Intramurals and Drama Club- Intramurals will begin this coming week for students in grades 5-6. Additionally, we will also begin our drama club on October 6.

• Calendar Change- We will NOT have an October concert for students in grades 5-6 as we are not able to currently utilize the high school auditorium for concerts per Covid restrictions. We look to schedule this concert in the Spring. We will be having an outdoor concert at BES on October 14 at 6:30 pm. Flier is below for more details.

9/27- No School- Professional Learning Day for Staff

As an elementary principal I enjoy working collaboratively with staff members to support student learning. I am passionate about continuing to learn professionally, and building relationships with staff and students at Berryton Elementary. When I'm not serving at Berryton Elementary I am usually with my husband and two sons. We can be found at sporting events, cheering on Kansas State University, or just enjoying a movie at home.
