PERSONALIZED STUDENT COUNSELING
Purpose: to provide every student the opportunity to connect with their counselor and create meaningful relationships & source of support.
Counselors are wrapping up the personalized counselor's meetings with the seniors. Next we will begin with the juniors followed by the sophomores and freshmen's. Letters are being emailed to parents after we meet with the student.
The 1st round of the personalized counseling meetings will conclude before Christmas break. We will begin the 2nd round in January with our Freshmen.

GREAT 8 SKILL OF THE 2nd QUARTER: Self-Management
What is Self-Management? The ability of being in control of our emotions and behaviors so that we can accomplish tasks and succeed in new and challenging situations.
Why is Self-Management important? If we don’t learn to manage ourselves, others will do it if for us. Self-managers have more opportunity, freedom and respect.
Top Self-Management strategies:
- Goal setting
- Behavior monitoring
- Self-reinforcement
- Self-evaluation
October is Bullying Awareness Month
PASS/FAIL - Due October 20th - NO EXCEPTIONS
To encourage more students to participate in upper-level courses and to pursue specific interests in a four-year sequence of courses for which there is no Honors designation, the District will allow high school students to apply for a Pass/Fail grading option for any course above and beyond graduation requirements. Courses taken as Pass/Fail will not count towards graduation requirements, including endorsements. Students may take up to four credits (eight semesters) as Pass/Fail. These Pass/Fail courses will be excluded in the computation of grade point averages and class rank.
Students who elect this option:
Must submit the electronic application with all appropriate signatures by Friday, October 20, 2023 by 3:00 p.m.
The electronic application can be found at PASS/FAIL Application
May not request a change back to a traditional numerical grade on the transcript, once the Pass/Fail option is approved.
Will receive numerical grades on progress reports and report cards for eligibility purposes.
Will receive a P (Pass) or F (Fail) for the semester grade associated with that course(s) on the transcript.
A double blocked class counts as two semesters
May NOT Pass/Fail a dual credit course

It is about preparing students for life after graduation. It is made up of curriculum, resources, programs and activities that help students have the tools they need to enter college or the workforce and begin a career.
There are several ways a student can demonstrate college, career, or military readiness. Please see the attached graph.
