We were thrilled to be able to resume our tradition of going to Morse Mountain! This year our third, fourth, and fifth grades were led by Ms. McCauley out to Sewall Beach, where we played in the sand, did some cooperative learning activities, and had lunch. We had some pretty tired legs on the way back! Overall, it was a beautiful day that we all truly enjoyed.

Our fourth graders have begun their beginning band group lessons, and our fifth grade musicians have started to play together. Ms. Michaud is a remarkable instructor. It is amazing how quickly they progress.

Outdoor educator, Ms. McCauley, is once again working with classes to do some gardening. This week, she will work with fourth-grade students to plant noninvasive native plants that have been grown from seed. We look forward to seeing their great work. In art class, students have been exploring art through nature, drawing and painting sunrises and sunsets.

A reminder that as it begins to get a little cooler out, please pack a sweatshirt or coat for your child. Students go out for recess every day for thirty minutes. If you need assistance with warm clothing, please reach out to Mrs. McCartney and she will be more than happy to help.

Remember, school meals are FREE to all RSU1 students again this year.

Soggy dog designs returns for picture day today,

September 28th, starting at 8:45AM. This year, they are shifting to an online ordering process. Please see the information sheet for details.

If you haven't already, please be sure to update your annual information in Infinite Campus right away. Students cannot go on upcoming field trips without the online permission, and we need to have the correct contact information in case of emergency or child illness at school. Please contact Mrs. Doran if you need help; there is also a computer at the school you can use in the office, if needed.

On Wednesday mornings from 8:20AM-9:20AM at PES (parents provide transportation to school), from October 11th through December 6th (skip Nov 22) Mad Science is offering Energize It! a 1-hour 8 week class for K-5 students, cost: $105. We need a minimum of 10 students to provide the program (maximum of 20), we still have 12 openings, and half and full scholarships are available if you contact Mrs. Doran by September 29th.
