Eagle Updates

Our first week of school has been wonderful! The elementary staff have worked so hard to set a strong foundation by reinforcing routines and procedures in all areas. Students are settling back into a routine and have enjoyed getting to know their teachers and classmates.

Upcoming Dates

The beginning of the school year is busy! Here is a list of some important upcoming events:

September 2-16: Fall laundry fundraiser.

September 20: After school tutoring begins.

Tuesday, October 4: Laundry fundraiser item pickup in the elem cafeteria from 3:30 - 6:00 pm.

Transportation Changes

Please make sure to contact the elementary office prior to 2:30 if you need to make a transportation change for your child. This ensures that office staff have enough time to communicate the change with teachers and bus drivers.

After School Tutoring

After school tutoring will begin on September 20th. Please note that we have a limited number of tutors available, so not all students that need extra help will receive tutoring. Tutoring is also done in very small groups of 5 students or less to 1 staff member to ensure extra attention for each student.

How are students selected for tutoring? Students that are already receiving extra assistance at school through special education or remedial math/reading intervention may not be chosen to allow for other students that are struggling that do NOT receive extra support.

If your child is selected for tutoring, each staff member creates their schedule. So the days each week vary depending on each tutor's schedule. The district does not provide transportation for tutoring students, so parents need to arrange for their child to be picked up by 5pm each day.

We will send home notes with students selected for tutoring at the beginning of September. Please contact Mrs. Byrd with any questions!
