A Message to our Bears...
Primary Bears,
Our Boosterthon fundraiser kicked off Monday! We loved all of the pajamas on Tuesday! Help us raise money for a new gym floor by sharing the fundraiser with family and friends. Students are looking forward to me kissing a pig if we reach our school wide goal!
All students will run during their PE time on October 12. Please send back the names of the guests that will attend for your child on October 12- see note in folder.
Thank you!
Sincerely,
Shelley Keck
Principal
Booster Update!
La Verina Primary families! We’re on our way to reaching our goal of $50,000 for an updated gym floor and other campus enhancements but we need YOUR help!

Spread the word by sharing your donation page link with others. If you are able, please consider donating to our school. Every SHARE and DOLLAR DONATED earns you entries toward our Disney Grand Prize Giveaway!
We’ve got a big goal so we are trying to let EVERYONE know how they can help! Who do you know from another state who can donate? Head to mybooster.com and share your donation page with them!
The top donating class will get to PIE THE BOOSTER TEAM!
Our students are so excited, thanks for helping make our fundraiser great!

Fire Department Visit
No Flip Flops
We want to start healthy habits that when students exercise, they wear proper shoes. When students get to 3rd grade, their grade in PE is impacted if they don't wear tennis shoes.

LIBRARY UPDATES
Many students have turned in Storybook Pumpkin photos and boy do they look amazing! Thanks to everyone who participated and helped us celebrate great story characters. They are due by October 9th.
No need to hang on to a book if you have finished reading it! Students are allowed to come check out books as soon as they finish reading what they have. Teachers can send them with "passes."
PreK and Kinder are checking out books to read at home with Mom, Dad, and/or Grandparents! Kinder is doing a wonderful job using shelf-markers and singing the shelf-marker song. Ask them to sing it to you. This time around, Kindergarten students are learning about the Fiction section and checking out amazing picture books! We hope each student and parent will enjoy reading these books together!
Tumblebooks.com ~ Lots of students have reported that they have used Tumblebooks at home. This is great news! Thanks for helping your child login. We hope you were able to place the note about Tumblebooks in a special place for safe keeping.
Upcoming Reading Challenges/Events:
- Texas 2x2 Reading Challenge ~ Students have all year to complete this challenge! More information will be sent home soon.
- SAVE THE DATE: SCHOLASTIC BOOK FAIR ~ November 6-10, 2023 (Yes, we will be open on Friday! A detailed note will be sent home with each student as the time nears).
- November 18 ~ Iris Seale Day! Information TBA.
