Attendance is Important “because students are more likely to succeed in academics when they attend school consistently. It’s difficult for the teacher and the class to build their skills and progress if a large number of students are frequently absent. In addition to falling behind in academics, students who are not in school on a regular basis are more likely to get into trouble with the law and cause problems in their communities.”

So, unless your child is sick or there is an unavoidable reason, please make sure your child is here to reap the benefits of school.

Next week (27th & 28th), the state assessments for 5th starts (California Science Test).

Get your child to bed on time or a little early (a well-rested student will test better).
Provide a good, healthy breakfast before leaving for school or have them arrive at 7:40 to eat breakfast at school.
Communicate with your child that this test is important. Encourage your child to do his/her very best.
Make sure your child is here. Get to school on time to allow your child to feel relaxed and unrushed. More than ever, being on time is critical to successful testing experiences.
