The Monday Minute

We hope everyone enjoyed the weekend. After today, there is only one more Monday of the 2021-22 School Year!

This week is the start of an important week for our 8th Graders! In addition to the overnight trip on Monday and Tuesday, the 8th Grade End of Year Dance will be at the end of the week.

ATTENTION 8th GRADE FAMILIES: Please see below for some important information on the LVMS Promotion Ceremony scheduled for Wednesday, June 15th.

Later in the week we will also host an interest meeting for current 6th and 7th graders that are interested in playing Fall 2022 Sports. Please see below for additional information!

**If there is inclement weather on June 16th, the promotion will be moved indoors to the LVMS North Gym**

Promotion Start Time: 6:00 PM

**8th graders should arrive at LVMS at 5:30 PM**

Where: Behind LVMS on the field (weather permitting)

Additional Information: Next week, each students will be provided with two (2) tickets for the promotion ceremony. Due to the number of students, and limited space, only two (2) tickets are available per student. Tickets will ONLY be necessary should the ceremony be moved indoors on the rain date. Tickets WILL NOT be utilized if the ceremony is held outdoors. Please be aware that the ceremony will be live streamed to YouTube (similar to WTS Board Meetings) and made available to the public rain or shine.

For those participating the Track & Field Championships will be held on June 7th (Boys) and June 9th (Girls) at Whippany High School. If you are not participating in the Championship Meet, please hand in your uniform to Coach Petrucelli or Coach Kays.

All current 6th & 7th grade Boys and Girls interested in trying out for an LVMS Fall 2022 Sport should attend a brief information session held in Library after morning announcements on Thursday June 9th (players only). This meeting will be for those interested in receiving information on Soccer, Cross Country, and Field Hockey.

Players unable to attend the meeting should see/contact the coaches directly.

The district has moved to following the CDC's 2/22/22 Recommendations. For additional information, please see Dr. Turnamian's 3/4/22 Community Update.

COVID Activity Index Level (CALI): As of 5/28/2022 the district received notification that our region’s CALI score remains High (ORANGE). The district medical professionals and local health department will continue to monitor cases. At this time, there are NO changes to our current school operations.

Contact Tracing: As of 2/28/22 CDC Guidance, the district will not require contact tracing when transmission rates remain low to moderate. The district will monitor current transmission rates with the guidance of our district medical professionals and local Health Department, and not conduct contact tracing unless circumstances change. Please be aware, if community transmission rates begin to rise, the district will consider restoring former mitigation protocols.

Testing Positive for COVID-19: If a student tests positive for COVID-19 he/she still needs to isolate for 5 days and it is recommended he/she wear a mask for days 6-10. Most importantly, if a student is sick (COVID related or not) please keep him/her home from school.

Close Contact / Quarantine: If an individual is identified as a close contact due to out of school activity or family contact and has not had a primary series of vaccination, it is recommended he/she quarantine for 5 days and wear a mask for days 6-10.

Daily District COVID-19 Communications: Effective 2/8/22 the district will no longer send out daily communications of newly reported COVID-19 cases from each school. This information will continued to be tracked and updated daily to the Information Hub on the main page of our district website.
