Columbia Central Weekly Bulletin
Week of November 6th
Veterans Day - November 11th, 2023
Thank you to all our Veterans❤️🤍💙
What's Happening This Week: 🏀🎺📘
Greetings Parents and Guardians,
We have a busy week ahead of us so please take a look at events below that are happening this week.
The end of Trimester 1 is this Friday. Let's support our students in getting in all the work they need to be successful. Report Cards will be going out by November 17.
We will start our Dough Not Miss Friday attendance incentive this Friday. All students that come to school on Friday on time are eligible to win a free delicious doughnut. Please do your best to get your child to school on time each and ever day. The research on students that fall into the absenteeism category suggests a high probability of long lasting negative setbacks that will affect them in high school and college and career readiness.
In honor of Veterans Day we will be continuing our tradition of celebrating this special holiday on Friday, November 10 during our assembly, which starts at 8:30 am. We have a 1 pm early dismissal on this day as well.
We hope to see you around throughout the week during our after school events. Let's make it a great week!

SEL Second Step Program
Dear Parents,
In this week’s Second Step lesson, your child will identify a goal they want to work on, anticipate roadblocks, and develop an If–Then Plan for their own goal. Your child will learn strategies to stay on track toward their goals. They’ll learn to monitor their progress, decide if they need to try new strategies and determine when their goal is complete.
Parents, consider this. Ask your child about a goal they’re actively working toward. Ask them if they are encountering any roadblocks and how you can help them determine the steps to accomplish their goals.
