Spirit Wear Orders - PRE ORDERS THROUGH JULY 20

Kiker Fall 2023 Spirit Gear is coming!

Kiker 2023-2024 Spirit Shirts have been finalized and the Presale will begin THIS WEEK. A separate email will go out with order details as soon as they're ready, and we promise that this year's totally rad shirts are all that and a bag of chips. 😉

Preorders will open by Friday, July 14th, and run through Thursday, July 20th. This preorder includes a discount and all items will be available for pickup at Meet the Teacher Night on August 10th. A second shirt preorder will take place during the first two weeks of school, but this month's preorder is the only opportunity for a discount.

Kiker Clean Up Day

Mark your calendars for our first PTA gathering of the school year! We will have water, but we live in Austin and it's still summer, so it will be HOT. Bring sunscreen, hats, gloves and tools to help with plant and garden clean up. Suggested tools are: gloves, clippers, rakes, small shovels, edgers, power cords and wheelbarrows. There will also be a rock painting station in the shade for kids. Let’s work together to get our school looking great for the new year!

Free Summer Meals

Children need nutritious meals to learn, grow and thrive — even when school is out. With the Summer Meal Programs, children and teens ages 18 and younger, and enrolled students with disabilities up to 21 years old can continue to eat healthy throughout the summer at no cost at any participating meal site.

One New Camp to Add: LASA Robotics

LASA Robotics presents SMART Camps
SMART (Science, Math, and Robotics Technology) Camps are STEM discovery camps geared towards students ages 7-11 in which students learn basic engineering and design principles through hands-on building and programming with LEGO Mindstorms sets. Summer 2023 SMART Camps will be taking place at LASA High School on August 12 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., and students of all experience levels are welcome to join! In addition to fun and informative instruction from members of the LASA Robotics team, campers receive lunch and a camp t-shirt to bring home. In partnership with H-E-B, we are able to offer these camps at no cost to participants, but spots are limited, and admission is on a first-come first-served basis. Library News

Make sure your child is reading every day this summer! The public library is a great place to take your child in the summertime. There is so much to see and do to get your child inspired. If you need book recommendations and a challenge, have your child take the 5 Book Dive this summer. If they read 5 books from the reading list, they'll receive a $5 gift card to Book People.
